“Busy day,” Victor expressed his opinion. “Great food, as usual little brother.”

Gavin finished wiping down the cooktop and blew out a breath. “I might need to take on more staff. A person needs some balance in his life and free time.”

“Free time,” Victor snorted. “With his legs open and around you. I don’t think you want to be free.”

Gavin gave a slow wide smile, “Oh, yeah.”

“When are you planning to make an honest mate of him?”

“Soon. I hope. Got to get him through the wedding planning.” He laughed, “Might have to run away to Scotland and Gretna Green.”

“Oooooooh,” Victor drew out in fake dismay. “That’ll go over well with the family.”

“There’s always the reception after to show him off.”

“You really believe that’ll fly. How are you going to keep your scaredy cat from bolting?”

“He does well with adapting to circumstances. Think it’s the build up of stress that would put him off the idea. He’d want everything to be just so and near kill himself trying to make it perfect. The tension would ruin it for him.”

“Could get the family to do the preparations. Just tell him you want to get married on a certain date, maybe mention Gretna,” Victor shrugged, “which wouldn’t be a lie since you could always do the honeymoon there after you officially bed him here. Then bring him to the finished product. The family would love to get involved.”

“I’ll talk it over with Toby. For now I just want to get home.”

“Can’t wait to get into your pussy?” Victor grinned watching his brother redden.

“Victor… “ Gavin stopped and took a deep breath, “will the family still want to help if they know that Toby’s family is feline were?”

Victor blinked, “Really?”

Gavin nodded.

“Okay. Well at least he’s were too. What kind of feline?”

“Don’t know yet.”

“He’s never changed around you?”

“I haven’t changed in front of him either.”

“O-kay. I know you love him and assume he loves you too, so that needs to change. It’s called trust.”
“Yeah. Kind of why I haven’t pushed the wedding plans. ‘Course he and I could go to Gretna and bond first.”

“Or you could do the conversation, don’t give me that look, first. You and he have already done the naked thing since you’ve had sex of some sort; being in your were form is just another version of that.”

“I’ll talk to him.”

“Either you do or I will change in front of him so he knows what to expect. Maybe I’ll take him to see the preschool while the cubs are in puppy form instead. Be good for him anyway since he might have one.”

“I’LL TALK TO HIM.”

“See you do. I like your Toby. I want the both of you to be happy.”

Victor was unprepared for Gavin to hiss at him. His “Oh, he has been teaching you things,” was met with the more usual growl. “Well, at least whatever kind of feline your Toby is, he hisses.”

“Okay, it looks even better after dark. The flowers show up better.”

The lights inside went out and the exterior lights illuminated the entrance leaving the stained glass of the windows in a more classic beige and black patterned glass expanse in keeping with the warm cream of the coffered entrance arch.

“Oh Wow. Beautiful.”

Gavin laughed hugging Tobias from the side, “My little traditionalist.”

Tobias returned the hug, not difficult since he was standing with his arm around Gavin. “I think I love you,” he said with uncertainty at the words' reception.

“I know I love you,” was answered.

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Really really?”

Gavin tightened his arm further. “Yes.”

“Oh, good.” Tobias smiled up at Gavin. “’Cause I’ve been worrying. A person doesn’t like to bring things like that up when they don’t know if it’s going to be reciprocated.”

“Silly. You’re easy to love.”

‘Just as easy to fall out of love,” there was the uncertainty again in Tobias’ voice.

“Nope. I have fallen fast but it’s not going to go away. It’s a family tradition. Once in love, always in love and there’s a feeling inside that tells you ‘this is your one’.”

“That sounds kinda werewolf or vampire fantasy story.” Tobias grinned, “You read fantasy stories,” he accused then frowned. “And I haven’t found any in your house. I looked.”

Gavin laughed, “Have you been bored enough to need fantasy stories?”

Tobias blushed, “I don’t think it possible to be bored around you. You’re kind of distracting.”

“It’s my talented tongue,” was answered with assurance.

“Shhhhh,” Tobias glanced around in case there was anyone around them to hear. “Um, that might have something to do with it.”

“Only might?”

“Hush you.”

“Marry me and be my bitch.”

That caused Tobias to blink. “Okay, that…. That was interesting. Yes to the first part and um bitch?”

“Werewolf for designated spouse.”

“You really are a were?!”

“Yes. Does it make a difference?”

“NO. No, no difference. Just um… I’m feline.”

“Then per your family tradition you’d be my queen,” was said with a shrug. Gavin smiled, “Explains why you smell so tantalizing and why you like to play with your food or should I say prey.”

“Shhhhhhh.” If Tobias could blush any hotter he didn’t know how.

Not to be deterred, “And how good your tongue feels.”

“Gavin!”

“Yes my little pussy.”

“Okay we need to take this home before ...” the rest was lost in the kiss.

“Yes, home.”

“Someone had more time on their hands than was good for them.”

“Excuse me?”

Tobias gave a jerk, “Oh, sorry. My mom used to make quilts and the door,” he shrugged, “she’d call that, half square triangle blocks.. done in glass. It’s easy enough to do it in fabric,” he grinned. “Yeah, the number of quilt videos I watched as a kid growing up, does not bear thinking about.”

“So other than the amount of time it took to make the door window, what do you think?”

“It’s pretty enough but what is it, an abstract or does it hope to convey a bunch of flowers.” Tobias squinted at the window, “Two larger … sunflowers, no those are too tall, gaillardia
perhaps. maybe with some blue hmm bellflowers maybe or cornflowers and then some chamomile thrown in. Asters, periwinkle?” Tobias threw up his hands, “It’s a flower garden.”

A grin answered him. “Yes. Very good.”

“Still a lot of time and work. Would have looked good with that clear swirly glass that looks like the surface of a brook. Can’t see through it, not really, but lets light through.”

The man shook his head. “Not as interesting and then there’s the conversations that can be started with people about it.”

Tobias turned and look at the man and was pleased. The man was interesting in his many parts. “Huh. Okay, what about the bottle cap impressions in the arch? Large bottle caps. Really large, with diamonds in between.”

An eyebrow rose over the strong beak of a nose.

Tobias did a quick reassessment of his own appeal. Had he gone too far? “Umm.”

“I think you mean the coffering of the soffit intrados.”

“Um, yeah, maybe, …. probably?”

Both eyebrows rose before the man’s face broke into a grin again. “The inside curve of an arch is an intrados, a soffit is the underside of a roof formed by eaves or a cornice .. , and the coffering is the series of sunken panels, in this case in octagon shape.”

“You’re having me on.”

“No, that’s really what all of that is and I don’t know you well enough to have you in that manner or if you prefer males to females or if you’ve had anyone inside you in that manner.”

Tobias blushed. “Okay, yes, and no I haven’t.”

The grin became a smile. “Good. Would you like to go somewhere to eat, if you trust me enough I could make us a luncheon.”

“Um, introductions first?”

“Gavin.”

“Tobias.”

“Nice to meet you, Tobias. There’s a nice restaurant just up the way.” The man cocked his elbow offering it to Tobias with a smile.

“Is the restaurant any good?”

“It’s the best but I’m biased.”

“Oh?”

“My restaurant.”

“It’s okay. You’re a cat familiar.”

“But it’s the whole concept of the thing. First it’s dogs and next it’ll be others. I could see it if it were a Hell hound. There’s the whole fire safety thing but demon dogs can be perfectly okay or they shouldn’t be allowed in normal public areas and definitely not in the rough of golf courses.”

“And what would make a demon dog be okay?”

Felix was about to answer but a tall dark haired man spoke.

“Demon dogs could be amongst you and you’d never know. We can act civilized, you know.”

Felix looked up at the man, then looked at Bruce, then back at the man. His tail swished lazily back and forth and his ears folded back. “This was a private conversation. I don’t need the help of a dog in whatever form you’re in. Leave.”

The man gave a low growl but the trickle of a magic more potent than his own must have convinced him to polite behavior. He turned and left.

“See. Demon Dogs can be just fine,” Felix nonchalantly sat and licked his paw.

“And yet you drove him off.”

“Well, he’s a dog, no matter what form he’s in, and he doesn’t have to be near me.”

It was the commotion at the back door that drew Glen to look. He wasn’t the only one looking.
There on the door mat was Cicero lying on his back his furry tail end to the glass and the chickens who were talking loudly amongst themselves.

“Ciss, must you place yourself on display like that. There’s been enough trouble with the rooster as it is. Unless you like the rooster’s attentions. He’s got enough to do with the hens, he doesn’t need to prove himself with you too.”

Cicero impossibly stretched longer to the enjoyment of the hens.

Glen shook his head,“Flasher. You better be careful. It’s possible to have chicken cat offspring. You think being constipated is bad, think about pushing out a kitten sized egg.”

Nimbly Cicero rolled to the side and up where he proceeded to groom ironically the base of his spine near his tail.

“Thought you hadn’t considered that particular complication.”

“Will you stop interfering.” It was a tall red haired man outside the glass of the door. “Ciss, the hens lay eggs all the time. Claim it’s better than like being fucked.”

“Well that’s not surprising. You jump on them and then you’re done. Kind of a slam bam thank you ma'am.” Glen was not pulling any punches.

The man outside the door returned to his rooster shape and stalked off into the yard.

“Well you scared him off, didn’t you.” Cicero now stood with his hands on his hips facing Glen. “I’m all warmed up with no one to fuck me.”

“Enough with your tom catting ways, Ciss. If you want me, you don’t have to tease the rooster. Just show up on my bed in human form and I’m more than willing to satisfy you. BUT, I demand you give up your wantonness. If you’re with me than you’re with me only.”

“That a proposal?”

Glen squirmed, “well, um, yes.”

There was a flurry of arms and Glen found himself being rubbed on and kissed at the same time. Guess it was difficult to take the cat out of the cat familiar.

“I’ve loved since the first pet, you know.”

“Uh huh,” there was strong skepticism in Glen’s response. “I on the other hand have loved you since you showed up wet and forlorn on my doorstep. You wound your way into my heart with stealthy paws.”

Scattering kisses over his human wizard, “As I intended. It’s all in the presentation. I had to wait until the first decent rainstorm.”

Kissing back, Glen descended into surrender, “As I’m glad you did. BUT no more teasing the rooster.”

Laughing, “I don’t like slam bam, thank you ma’am. Well maybe sometimes but I like my lover to be that, my lover. Roosters don’t do it for me. A certain wizard will though.”

“Good.”

“Good. Meet you in the bedroom.” Cicero in cat form cheated, made it to the bed first, where he lolled back in all his naked human form reminiscent of how he lay on the door mat to the appreciation of the hens.
