It clearly wasn’t the best time to have moved. They probably wouldn’t have that many Trick-or-Treaters, being new to the neighborhood and the trust factor not yet in place. It did help that he and Gabriel could say that they were an author team and worked from home. They were eccentric, not crazy weird guys. Still he hoped that Gabriel would get home with the treats soon, just in case, it was starting to get dark. The sound of the key in the lock made Brian smile. Just in time.
Still on the porch, Gabriel stood wearing a cape and his face was pasty white with gory red lips. Carefully and with the feel of ritual he handed over the many bags of what was obviously candy in full view of the stream of parents shepherding their small ghouls and princesses by their house.
Brian smiled and then gave a small shriek as Gabriel grabbed him out of the house and proceeded to ravage Brian’s neck. The moan was to be expected as Gabriel, undercover of cape, had his hands in places the watchers didn’t need to know about.
“You must invite me in,” Gabriel intoned loudly.
“But… You’ll drink away all my blood,” Brian wailed theatrically.
Against Brian’s neck Gabriel chuckled darkly and with volume, “Not this year. There are Trick-or-Treaters who might come calling and needing to be fed.”
“Oh. Well then; Do Come In.” Brian couldn’t help himself giving a more genuine Eep as Gabriel swept him up into his arms and stepped over the threshold leaving the door wide open. There was more neck ravaging that took place.
“Overdoing it, much?” Brian snickered while moaning.
“Got to make sure lots of the lipstick transfers over,” Gabriel's lips smiled against Brian’s neck.
Their first Trick-or-Treaters arrived within minutes.
