FB3X Drabble Cascade #31 - Independent
Title: Running Away (G)
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 100
Prompt: Independent
Dew was just settling upon the grass and leaves. He hoped that his footprints darkening the silvered lawn were gone before they discovered he’d left but walking on the crushed gravel drive was something he didn’t want to risk. It wasn’t that far to the city and he had food with him and his saved up allowance, there hadn’t really been that much to spend it on anyway. In a few weeks time, he’d be of age and then there’d be his inheritance and then there was Tony.
Tony. Somehow he’d convince him that he wasn’t a child any more.

Date: 2013-10-17 12:32 am (UTC)I used to read romance novels from the thirties and forties where the guy was lucky if he even got a kiss. In one (at least) and girl runs away from home with her younger siblings two months before she turned eighteen because her relatives were going to farm them out and she wanted to keep the family together now that they were orphans.
