If you didn't find the restaurant Entre Nous de Cuisine fic then you need to go back one posting, I think.

Today we had snow. It wasn't bad but whereas yesterday when the ice had finally melted off the roads everybody was driving slow and cautious when they didn't need to any more, today the idiots were driving like well idiots. Maybe they were trying to get places before the real stuff came down. Weather people were saying that there would be times of intermittent little snow and times of large flakes coming down all at once. It thickly dusted about 1" the grass and car, sat there and then crept away. Nothing terrifying. Except for those people who drove 70+ mph pulling in front of you with a foot leeway. That was irritating. It was also dangerous. Passed a multicar accident with cars 20- 30 feet off the road upside down some of them and a semi-truck twisted over on its side. The roads weren't that bad if you were going a reasonable speed, or shall we say the legal speed for that stretch of highway.

We had a 2 hour delay for classes but my son had a class at 8 am so it was leave the house at the normal time without any rush cause I didn't need to be there the regular time for me. Didn't make sense for me to go back home for an hour and have to brush off the snow again or worse drive on potentially roads so I went on to work and clocked in 26 minutes later than normal. Stayed a bit later just to make sure that the time clock wouldn't dock me like it did the last time I did this. Relaxing day. Students still in 4 day weekend and I'm back in school shock.

The way home... there was one person in his truck that pulled across 4 lanes to get into the far left turn lane at the stop light and ended up with the nose of his truck in the far left lane and the rear in my turn lane. We make the turn and he's in my lane again then proceeds to jump back and forth cutting people off and kicks it by cutting from the far left lane across 3 lanes to the far right lane to get onto the interstate highway again with very little time to make that lane change and cutting people off. Rear of his truck bed gate had a cute little decal of a steer head that read as "Bully".

Anyway thank you all who remembered my birthday. Some wrote me birthday fic. *pets them*
My son bought me dinner and it was good. One sister apologized for forgetting my birthday, two days before my birthday. My Mom and other sister sent me a vid of the pair of them singing Happy Birthday to me from her cell phone. My brother, who is 3 years younger, sent me a message that I was really really old. *snickers* Daughter will probably call later, but she sent me a message over the weekend that for my birthday my grandson has learned to turn over. Awwwwe. And my boss got me an Amazon gift card. YEA!
The day has been good. Thank You.

DAllas highways.

For all my friends and family that have never ventured to Dallas, Daalis, or Dallus, here is an aerial view of one of the major mix masters (highways intersecting) that is fairly close to where we live.

This is somewhat exaggerated but only somewhat. If you need explanation of some of the things mentioned (*grins* esp. you non-U.S. peoples) just ask. Btw. That's a true photo of a mix-master here. Think of how many levels of aerial highways that is. Now think of snow, built up sleet and ice on them because they're too far off the ground for the soil's heat to melt all that. winter-weather-february-2015-4 The driver wasn't seriously hurt.

"Okay, this is the first maiden voyage for you as a meal so don't worry about your clothes getting messy, you're not wearing any and he's only paid for a feeding from his choice of your neck and or wrist. You wear an apron that covers all the parts not on the menu. Don't worry it washes but the vamps are usually quite neat. They don't like to waste food they say but I think they're just OCD about tidiness."

Terry gulped and nodded at Carleton the restaurant Entre Nous de Cuisine’s Sous-Chef. He was relieved that there'd be an apron to hide his everything not available to the diner.

“Ready?” Carleton wrapped a stretchy paper band like at the barber’s around Terry’s neck. “Stick out your arms and remember you sit on the diner’s lap during the feeding. Don’t wiggle or bounce.”

Nodding Terry wondered why he’d want to wiggle or bounce. Flinching maybe when the fangs went in he could see. He stuck out his arms like a scarecrow staring straight ahead thinking it would seem more professional as the crinkling of plastic being shaken out came from behind him then Carleton was in front of him, his face set in concentration as he tied and adjusted the plastic just so.

“You can put your arms down now,” Carleton told him. “The opening’s in the back but it should cover everything while you’re walking to the table. Less chance of anyone’s hand going where it shouldn’t that way and the slit up the front comes up to the top of your thigh which allows for easier walking and access once you sit on the diner’s lap. You put your hands where he arranges you. Expect that the front slit will ride up. Don’t worry he has a napkin to take care of things there. You’ll be in a slightly enclosed alcove that’s vampire dim and any noise you might make will be muffled. Your waiter after delivering you will stand outside faced away throughout the meal and convey you back here afterward.” Carleton smiled. “Don’t worry kid, you’ll do fine. We haven’t lost any of our meals yet.”

Terry nodded.ExpandRead more... )
