Prompt #60 - boxes, playful, timing

Title: Teaching ala Cat
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 100

It was all in the timing, chasing the mouse around the boxes inside the garage. She tried not to be distracted by the shrieks that her humans were giving while still keeping an eye out for the whack of a broom that they thought was helping. Humans really didn’t do this game very well. She’d tried to train them; bringing them in presents of dead mice, washed all clean and left to lie on the carpet where they’d be sure to find them. They still seemed to fear these little playful creatures that tasted so good. It was terribly discouraging.

That said, I'm not afraid of mice, I am afraid of germs, which are spread by mice. Grotty little beasts.

Grotty little beasts that mark things with urine and chew up all sorts of things including wiring. I've cleaned up too many barfed up fur balls from the cats and dog dropping from walking them. The Fuzz, the pet mouse, was not a problem except for when he needed to redecorate his home with the part of the curtain he pulled into the cage. *sighs* He was moved away from the curtain and praised for the smart mouse he was who didn't escape through the hole he'd made to get at the curtain. The two cats and a dog might have had something to say about that.

I knew that you'd appreciate this drabble for what it was. *grins*
