“So the latest round of storms coming out of the Atlantic were demon caused?” Silas asked. “Not what I’d have expected from the demons I’ve associated with. Must be a lower class of demons.”
Nick had winced. “The opposite in this case at least.” Silas’s brows had risen in disbelief. “’Some’ families produce children who have an … um inflated sense of entitlement.”
“So … brats,” Silas grinned at the sigh that resulted from Nick then frowned. “Why do you need my help since its demon magic?”
“Just because they’re young, doesn’t mean they’re untalented or their magical abilities not powerful. The families want things cleaned up discretely and for that it’ll take magic from this plane and mine.”
Silas glanced at Nick and then examined his nails. “Must be some powerful families if you’re willing to pay my fee for magical intervention.”
“My Agency is paying, not me, and I’m thinking that we’re in this as a team.”
“Team? When did I sign onto that?”
It was Nick’s grin that answered.
“What did you do?” Silas thought about tearing off his clothes to search on his body for any claiming marks but it could be a ploy on Nick’s part to get him naked again to put the claim on if it wasn’t there already. It had been a long time that they’d been naked with each other and he’d only just showered and got his clothes back on after a long actively pleasurable night. There were aches in places that were new to him.
“You mean you don’t remember?” was sighed. “I’ll have to do it all over again. Oh the things I do for the Agency,” Nick then snickered.
“Asshole.”
“One of my favorite places.”
“Hmm, could I get away with expelling you back to your plane without any repercussions of the serious kind?
“No,” Nick replied. “You need me.”
“Someone has an over estimation of their sexual talents.”
“Yes. I mean, no. I mean, Yes. I mean...”
Silas took pity and interrupted Nick, “give it up. You’re confused.”
Nick actually seemed to be considering it, “Are we talking of whose seed is in whose ass?”
“ASSHOLE.”
“Yeah,” Nick nodded, “That.”
“Explain.”
“Well when a demon and a wizard love each other...”
“Wait. What? Stop right there.”
“You’d rather call it ‘fuck with each other’?”
“Yes. I mean, No. NOW YOU’VE GOT ME DOING IT! Stop that!” Nick’s grin answered him.
“I believe we were discussing our partnership.”
Nick’s voice sounded so reasonable, the dick head, so Silas decided to try for a similar semblance of civilized. “I don’t believe we agreed to a partnership.”
“Sure you did, about the time you told me to just stick it in, if I remember correctly. You do remember the words that followed that?”
“Um,” Silas tried replaying the scene in his head; his cock hardened, distracting him; and Nick knew the effect it was having on him. “Asshole,” he muttered.
“See. Asshole is sometimes acceptable. It’s where you told me to put it or so I inferred considering the circumstances…. Hmm,” he ogled Silas’ renewed hardness, “would you like a revisiting of our complete partnership discussion?”
Silas looked at Nick and shook his head. “Just tell me. And it better be the truth.”
“We work well together. I think it’ll transpose well into us working together as partners too.” Nick paused. “What do you know of demon mates?”
“Serious stuff,” he shrugged. “My time on your plane didn’t have many discussions of how one became a mate. Saw a few mated pairs, they looked um… happy with each other even when one of them had pissed off the other.”
Nick frowned. The idea of anyone but him inside Silas was not a pleasing consideration. Only the fact that he knew his was the first cock in Silas’ ass mollified him. He had a bit of convincing to do before he could claim him. Claiming a wizard of Silas’ strength was a little more complex than a normal human claiming. If Silas wasn’t won over into acceptance of being his mate there would be a constant battling in their relationship. It would be something that for them as a team could cause dangerous flaws in their work.
Carefully choosing his words, Nick said, “Let’s try our working together and see what happens.”
Silas nodded slowly. After all, the effects of some spoiled brat of a demon was manifesting on the human plane. Someone had to do something and he’d rather do it with help. Judging by how well he and Nick fit together, he could feel himself blushing at his own words even if only in his thoughts, he could see them as partners. “Alright.”
