A Kindle with gift card to feed things to it.

I love the way books feel; the rustle of paper pages, the soft feel of those pages, the smell of the ink (if it's new), the weight of a tome,the texture of the cover, the fact that its batteries never run out and even if it gets wet all it does is add another texture to it.

Am currently lusting over a copy of The Magic Thief that was lost in the school. Of course all lost books come to the Library, whether or not they belong to us. The front part of the book got wet. Cover is still in excellent shape but it took me a bit to realise that that wonderful peebly texture of the front pages was due to water damage. I want the rest of the book to be like that. It feels soooooooo *goes into spasms of delight*.

Anyway, I have a Kindle. I want to be a part of the future but I'm not wanting to give up the past. I love that I have one.. as it sits in its box unopened. How do I load the damned thing? Instructions are inside the box.
