15 granny smith apples, peeled and diced
1/2 cup butter, cut into small squares
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 package prepared pie crusts
Directions:
Spread apples onto a cookie sheet. Spread squares of butter over the apples, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake in an oven preheated to 400 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Remove the apples from the oven. Carefully place the pie crusts in the bottom of the mugs. Fill generously with the apple pie mixture. Top lattice-style with strips of pie crust. Place mugs on a clean cookie sheet, return to oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the pie crusts are golden brown.

Apple Pie Applesauce
http://www.babble.com/best-recipes/homemade-applesauce/

5 pounds apples, like Jonathan or Macintosh—something that will get smushy when it cooks down
1/4 cup pure maple syrup (NOT the fake kind!)
2 inch piece orange zest (use a vegetable peeler to peel off a strip—don’t add the white pith)
juice of half an orange
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 cup water
In a large pot, combine all ingredients. Set over medium high heat, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Applesauce is done when the apples are all translucent and soft. Serve warm.
