Idly he watched as the swathe of tall trees were laid waste. Almost he could hear the pleading of Azmer to spare the trees for his sake and mentally answered that if Azmer would yield to him then he would save some of the trees but most would be felled to prove his power.
“Why are you watching the wind in the trees so intently,” his lover questioned.
Julian smiled, “Imaginings.”
Laughing Azmer asked, “You’re pretending again. What this time?”
“Oh, of silken tethers, a bed, and you captive upon it.”
Azmer’s eyes heated, “this djinn might yield, this once."
