I could see this done as a valance or hung over a sheer or plain drapery and maybe able to be looped to the sides. Whatever is used to sew the yo-yos together would have to be resilient because those babies are going to tangle and get caught on things. *nods head* Valance, out of harm's way, whoever harm is.

Yo-yo quilts. Hmmmm pets with paws and people with appendages can get those appendages caught in the spaces between. Not my favorite style of quilt.

I don't think they'd weigh enough to hang properly. And I agree about the thread.

Yo-yos like Meep's might because they're stuffed and could be sewn bottom to top even if the weren't stuffed. I think ribbons would be better, but if someone wanted to use fabric, why not strips, either of solid colors or some design that would look like a quilt when hanging?

The bottom yo-yo you sew in a bit of shot weight like is available for draperies to make them hang straight. Shot weights, for those who aren't familiar with the term, are ball bearings encased in a fabric tubing that I think you might be able to buy by the yard?

Valance, so you'd only need enough to span 12" for each strand, seems like the best way to do them and yeah some of that 1/4" ribbon to sew them to.

*grins* Pieced strips hung to form a quilt strip curtain. Need to have negative spaces between. That would be kind of neat.

*snickers* doilies are more airy lace looking and I've seen window treatments that are a bit like that. Yo-yos are much easier to make. *pushes you to look up* I put Youtube links up in my comment to Meep, who needs no instruction since she's crocheting hers. You want to try this, really you do. It's so portable a craft. Imagine the pillows you could make. *GRINS*
