HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING
http://www.foodrenegade.com/homemade-taco-seasoning/

The amounts listed here make up about 2 Tbsp. of homemade taco seasoning mix — the perfect amount to replace one store bought 1.25oz packet.

Ingredients
1 Tbsp. Chili Powder
1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp. Onion Powder
1/4 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 tsp. Dried Oregano
1/2 tsp. Paprika
1 1/2 tsp. Ground Cumin
1 tsp. Sea Salt
1 tsp. Black Pepper (optional)

Directions

Now for the easy part: mix all the spices together and store in an airtight container. The optional black pepper is to increase the spiciness based on your family’s tastes and preferences. If you don’t like spicy foods, simply leave the black pepper out and/or be sure to adjust that tablespoon of chili powder down.

If you’re like me, you’ll want to make more of this taco seasoning and store it in your pantry for ease of use next time.
This is quintupled, you’ll measure out 2 Tbsp. of the homemade taco seasoning per pound of meat. Or, if you’re like me, you simply add it to taste.

Ingredients
1/4 C. plus 1 Tbsp. Chili Powder
1 1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
1 1/4 tsp. Onion Powder
1 1/4 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1 1/4 tsp. Dried Oregano
2 1/2 tsp. Paprika
2 Tbsp. plus 1 1/2 tsp. Ground Cumin
1 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. Sea Salt
1 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. Black Pepper (optional)

*snickers* Yeeeees but luckily I've already brushed my teeth to get ready for bed and I'm lazy, not wanting to have to do that again tonight.
There is a source for the spices sold wholesale on the recipe's website. I didn't look at it though so it might be U.S. based. Amazon has offerings of bulk products, herbs & spices included.
They're available here in the grocery stores so it's not a problem. *grins* Bay leaf is expensive from the companies like McCormick(major brand) but I go to the Hispanic foods section and get more in a clear cellophane packet than is available in the jars for much lower cost. They're the same thing. I just put them in a jar once I've opened the packet.
