All the images get it wrong. Classically chimera are; lion headed, goat bodied, and with a serpent’s tail. Oh and they are able to breathe fire. There’s only one head mentioned, the lion’s. So there’s a heavy bodied goat body with a long scaled tail.Since the ancient artists represent the chimera with 3 heads, and female, I too have used artist's prerogative. While keeping to the description, *grins*Chi is male.

Title: Not the Easiest of Lovers (PG, Fantasy,m/m)
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 100

“Shhh, ” Warm arms encircled Chi, Theo’s solid body fitting along his spine.

“Bad dream?” was asked and Chi groaned.

“Change back now Love or you’ll burn down the house around us.”

To that Chi hissed and Theo laughed, “Channeling your snaky tail, are we?”

A hand stroked down the goat furred flank to Chi’s balls, cupping them, “Let’s try this. Change back to human form and I’ll fuck you until your inner lion purrs like a pussy. Or should I start now, since I know where to stick my cock into a ram?”

“Pervert,” Chi huff laughed then changed.

I thought a Chimera was a mythical creature that was a mix of more than one undefined animal? - I've seen them with a lion and/or antelope head, with a snake tail. Goat is a new mix for me.

Pervy. Never comfortable with shifter stories that 'play' in their shifted forms - yes it's still them but...

Not an antelope head. That's a goat head attached to that body.
I expect Theo knew saying that would get Chi to change more quickly and it drew a laugh from him disrupting whatever the bad dream was about. Chi had changed into his chimera form while sleeping in response to the dream.

Dunno what I read then - that had an antelope head :p

I see. And now I'm imagining waking up to a Chimera.
Oh but it does remind me we were going to buy a Chimenea today -what? they're spelt alike- Had a cheap one that broke first use, then broke more because.. *shifty look* seen one I really like that doubles as little BBQ

Chimenea and chimney *grins* Chimera. Yep I believe it. Chimera are natural methane vents that have ignited in Lycia SW Turkey. They were/are a natural landmark used by sailors.

You getting a clay one with the bulbous bottom or a metal in the round mesh bulb shaped and chimney or a fire pit?
Buy bricks and make yourself an outdoor fireplace. *grins*

:)

Seen a lot of metal ones this year and ones with pizza grills - can't say pizza is my first bbq idea but I do like pizza ;)
Have thought about bricks but my back garden is small and a permenant structure would be in the way.

The one I've see is clay it's in two parts so can be used as bbq, which doesn't really bother me but is nice extra, also make it easier to empty - that's how I smashed the already cracked previous one.

Not sure how great they are but I like them -pyromaniac tendencies- they're cosy.

This is cute. How big is it, though if you can grill a pizza in it... gotta be at least big enough for a 12" pizza to go through the slot. Looks like it has a cover, like some mugs have for steeping tea, on the top of the flue part.

Don't know the measurements, there's three sizes I thought to get the middle one. This one isn't advertised for pizza I'd say it was big enough to put one on the grill when halved but doubt you'd get it through the gap if the chimney part was on. There's a rain lid.

Doubt I'd get a whole lot of use out of it but I really like it sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to something ;)

Classically a chimera was mythical goat, lion, snake mix. It is used now to mean genetically different portions within the same body; animal, human, plant, philosophical ideas (go with it).
The Greek hero Bellerophon on Pegasus, killed the Chimera.

I guess it depends on who you read as to if there are indeed 3 heads, *sighs* Homer or Hesiod. *shrugs*

I thought it was a generic term but didn't remember it's origins - The Charis always knows :D you is educating me!

Oh yeah, 'cause I read them all the time LOL!

You haven't read all of the Iliad?!? *shock* *snickers* Don't think I have either though I remember individual Greek Myths. Used to sit in with a friend who took a classical lit. course. It was fun and I knew most of the stories though the names are a bit Brothers Karamazov. You need a list with what they were and who were they and what was their story summary.

*shame faced* I get a bit um pedantic.

I like learning things :)

I read myths back in school but have forgotten them all, never something I studied.

I thought one of the heads was the snakes - at the end of the tail. And since he's male, he has another "head" already. So with the lion's head, that makes three.

Yes there's a classical statue of the monster with 3 heads, the goat head appearing above where the front shoulders should be. Having a hissing tail end is much more exciting as does a flame breathing goat's head.

*snickers* Yes, then the 'cockerel' makes 4.

Theo *nods* knows what to do for his lover. It can't be easy for either of them and their homeowner's insurance must be interesting and undoubtedly the special fire insurance rider would have been interesting to negotiate. The fire brick walls, floor and ceiling probably help. Room's contents.... *cringes* Yeah Theo has the best cure for bad dreams.
Wonder if they make something similar to bedwetting prevention for fire. In the event of one little wiff of smoke or flame it starts vibrating, waking the sleeper. Won't say how *coughs* that is done. Some form of *cough cough* implant?

Thank You.
