No. Kraken has to (also) be the plural. Because krakens just isn't scary. Bit the probably refer to themselves as Krakenians. Or something that means 'the people' in their own language.
My daughter looked at the picture and talked about kelp, waves breaking, and perspective. Probably due to her recent Oceanography class.
Your daughter doing Oceanography... sounds like a neat class.
