Everybody is in a kerfuffle. *laughing* I'm going, 'oh, that would be perfect to have an elf say to his lover.'
I'm sure it would lost in translation.

You are missing from me

Postings:
And then this person says
Sorry, not right... Tu me manque, I miss you. You are missing from me, tu manque de moi. Very different indeed.

And
It actually means 'I miss you'. One should avoid literal translations where possible, as they often lead to confusion. For example, you would not say in French, 'Il pleut des chiens et des chats'. People would look at you as though you were deranged.

But
In greek, too. We say "mou leipeis", which means you are away from me.

And
Voula Tomaras In Greek you say "Μου λείπεις" which means exactly the same " You are missing from me"...

And
Actually, "tu me manque" is correctly translated "i lack you"...

And
In Español, you say "Te falto" , I'm lacking,....implying I'm lacking without YOU!

And
Pilar Ortega Soto In Spanish, we can say "Te extraño" (I miss you) but we can also say "Me haces falta" (You are missing from me).

And
"Sabishii desu" in Japanese roughly translates to "I'm lonely without you"
