Friday a log.......hmmmm
Nov. 6th, 2009 08:17 pmWhy were the computers over against the wall turned on with blue screens of death?
Who was that mystery man that Peter didn't know, sitting in the library before I got here, reading the newspaper ?
Why was one of the Library entry doors unlocked? See reference to question 2.
We have new lights in our offices. Steve didn't do it.
You chose an excellent day to be out. *hysterically parodies Poe* "The drills, the drills."
9:10 student walk in count is 28. @_@
Have started the second pot of coffee already
Intervention specialist out in Miki's room calls because she can't get TV to work to
preview videos. I can't leave, I've kids doing checkouts.
10:38
Ms. D.'s TV wasn't working. Her student teacher came for the remote which didn't
work either. I thought my Librarian just put batteries into that remote. There were
none in the office, of course. "Doctor" *smiles* G. (we're so proud she just got
her doctorate from A&M) did the running around to try to facilitate. Ms. W. came to
the rescue with her TV. Gotta love teachers who work so well together.
Ms. C. was prevailed upon to bring in 2 of her classes to check out, which makes it
nice for the kids wanting to work.
You can tell which teachers don't read their e-mails. *cough* Mr. V and Coach *cough*
11:55
Dante,Jazmine , + 2 others who didn't check arrived at the library to work. Except
that only one of them had work to do so sent the rest away. Then the one who had work
to do decided, as she didn't want me 'to get in trouble' for allowing students in the
library without a teacher, left. (I don't have a teaching cert. and if something
happens while they are under my care @.@ the school is in trouble for them being
not suitably supervised. This is why my librarian e-mailed all and sundry not to send
students to the library except for checkout unless the teacher came and stayed with the
class.)
12:00
178 books checked out by noon
74 patrons
6648 books served so far this school year

I officially hate Ms. W. until after I get the books shelved. Today, she sent back all
those books she'd checked out when it's just me here.
219 books checked out now.

All the books are shelved. Heavens, I'm good.
Mr. De. is sitting in the library talking to a student, making it legal for all the
other little childrens to be here too.
Have I mentioned that I really like Mr. De. It goes without saying that Ms. C.falls
into that same catagory.

Rebecca Q. (new to the U.S. from Africa and new obviously to the English language
or she wouldn't be in this school) from INA checked out "New moon, Writing" from the
NaNoWriMo display. She's sitting reading aloud so you can just barely hear her but
she's doing it fairly fluidly. Turned in the book she'd checked out previously to
get this one. She was so excited. * \o/ * Score.
Sent an e-memo to the Reading teachers about her with regard to this. Complimented
them for their success.
