(1/4" seams)
4 pairs ----2 1/2" x 8 1/2 strips cut at 45 degree angle on one end gradient colors each color has 2 strips cut at mirror angle*
4 squares ---2 1/2" black

1 square ---8 7/8" cut diagonally = 2 triangles black

2 1/2" wide --- black border
2 1/2" strips cut 5" long --Piano key border

1 quadrant (need 4 quadrant)
Sew small black square to non-angled end of strip. Do this for all of one of each of the gradient pairs sets
Sew strip without square (other one of each of the gradient pairs sets) to 8 1/2" square
Sew strip with square to right angle side of 8 1/2" square.
Continue this for other pairs until you've built out a chevon from right angle of large square.

Sew black triangles along the 2 sides of gradient strips to make the chevron into a square radiating out from 8 1/2" black square.
Trim to equal 16" square.

2 1/2" border around center square made of 4 quadrants
Piano key border cut 5" long strips of gradient strips

* easy way to do this is place each color strip so wrong sides together and then cut 45 degree angle = equals mirror cut
