This is an Around the World quilt

This lady drives me crazy with her 'I'm a happy person' and I don't waste as much fabric as she does or use the tube method. I'd rather unpick the seams,shift and sew the piece to the bottom of the strip instead. *sighs* But the tube method does make sure you keep the colors in order so less organizing. May have to try that.
The Amish have a unique way of combining colors in their quilts that raises them to excellence.
For the Around the World my daughter and I did for her social studies project we cut the strips so they were rectangular pieces instead of squares. That means the initial strips were wide and after sewing those strips to each other, we cut perpendicular strips that were less wide. It looks better to me *shrugs*.
