Notice the shadow print on the 'white' background. They probably flipped the fabric over to the 'wrong' side so you're seeing the reverse side of the border material.

Lemoyne Star Pattern
Large diamonds = 4 dark right triangles to fill in rest of diamond to make larger diamond. Make 8 larger diamonds.

Small diamonds = Sewn variegated strips should be cut at a 45* angle. Make 3 per large diamond and 2 for between each larger diamonds=16.
(8 large diamonds x 3)= 24 + 16 = 40 variegated small diamonds.




Right triangles
4 dark per large diamond 8(4 dark right triangles) = 24 dark right triangles
8 (3 light right triangles for between outer areas of larger diamonds) = 24 light right triangles

Large Right triangles for corners of block of light background material = 4 large light right triangles

Add border.

*GRINS* Yes, I could see that if the small diamonds were red or variegated pieced reds. Would probably want to have the small triangles in fall color pattern material or they'll look like poinsettia.

I saw that, the flip the fabric over to create a pastel version of your fabric, in a book on the Stack-n-Whack method of making a quilt top.

I think Mom's entered her 'I look better in pinks' stage of life. Would love to do this as a medallion in the center of a quilt for her.
