I liked first season Sherlock, disappointed with the later ones and not a Cumberbatch fan, seen him in an interview or two and he comes across as 'very pleased with himself'.
Have you seen him sneering at general tv viewers aka those not high-brow enough to appreciate his 'art'. Mocking asexuls who appreciated his protrayal of Sherlock. His open disgust and suspiciously dramatic shock when another show won an award over Sherlock.
I like him as Sherlock he's great in that role, but not impressed with what I've seen of him being himself :(
