Okay so just changing the filter didn't work.
HAD to work on Friday, it's one of our busiest days circulation wise and my Librarian was doing orientations through out the day.
Saturday was drive an hour to daughter and wonderful son-in-law's for baby shower. The future grandmother must attend.
Saturday night slept with ice pack hugged to chest.
Sunday was miserable, thankfully the weather cooled overnight sometime around 2 am but to survive we HAD to turn on the a/c to get the house down to 80F. from 89F. We couldn't stand it any longer.
Found out today that if I'd known that it ONLY (notice that only) cost $30 more the company would have come out Sunday.
Was fretting away thinking that we'd have to have a whole new unit put in again... just made the last payment on the a/c unit. That ranks into the thousands of dollars.
Did not sleep well.
So the very nice man came in and remember that drain that I poured bleach down and it went down just fine? Yeah well that drain goes directly into the water sewer. The clog was between that place and where the coils drain to. So the drainage line goes horizontal then does a sharp down into a loop which then empties below where I poured the bleach down. Took the very nice man a clip of the plastic pipe, drain the water out of the pipe, then blow air through the pipe removing the clog. Debating pouring more bleach down the intake that drains directly into the sewer. Do not want to have a clog form down there. It is a larger drain though.
Note to self. Have the people out for the Spring tune up. Because, oh Lord thank you, you don't want to be without a/c in Texas. How did they survive in the past?
Cost $145.59
A/c Priceless

There's also a Kindle version but I don't think from what you've said that it would work for you.
Ilona says in the promo
Warning: this story is one big dirty joke. There is no actual sex, but there is a lot discussion about it. It was written on a dare. Someone told us that we couldn’t write a short story around one particular phrase, and we did. So I recommend this for people 18+. Because you know, we wouldn’t want to corrupt your minors.

Date: 2014-09-26 03:45 am (UTC)We lived in the Republic of Panama for a few years. For about a month at the beginning we didn't have a/c because our household possessions hadn't arrived yet. Washed and dried all the bedding every day because of mildew. The ground level part of the building was where you parked the car and you lived on the second floor. Termites never ate the walls but the floors were prime munching areas.
*grins* My 3 year old was able to root a flowering marigold on its stem in a glass of water under a table lamp, something that isn't supposed to be possible.

Date: 2014-09-29 07:05 am (UTC)the problem here is that since we are in the city, houses are built side-by-side with practically no space in between and the nieghbors care not a whit about pest control so we had to make and be alert with termites as they crawl from the cement from the neighbor's wall to look for wood and settle in our house. *sighs*
as for the a/c unit, we tend to go to the malls to cool off during hot holidays and after office if the heat is too much and then go home and have our electric fans pointed at us when we get home to keep ourselves cool even after drinking ice-cold water. XD
mildew is really as bad as molds! ugh! DX we also had to wash our sheets as often as possible and keep the house as clean as possible especially the "moist" areas like under the sink and the bathrooms.
hope you guys are doing okay now that the a/c is fixed. take care. :)
