The shirt stroked over his nipples that would get him fired if he gave into it by frotting his chest against the wall to try and ease the hunger. Three days of suckling on them could do that to any person, he told himself, but not every person had an expert able to turn you into a hyped up sexually crazed bloodly nipple slut. He loved it, he craved it, and … his phone played the opening tones of The Imperial March from Star Wars. The Blood Donation Clinic was calling him. How did they get his number?!
“You going to get that? I’ll cover for you.”
Everett clamped his hand over the phone, trying to muffle the ring. “Isn’t it time one of us did the restroom checks? Think it’s suddenly my turn,” he said hurriedly, “and thanks.”
Daze grinned at him, “no prob. Saw a guy panic and drop his cell into the fryer once to shut it up. All that grease and the battery,” he shook his head. “Had to operate on one fryer until we could empty that side and Larry took workmen’s for the burns.” He shook his head, “Micky D’s just not Micky D’s without fries.”
In the men’s room he hurriedly switched the phone to vibrate. His luck, the clinic’d be calling right when he switched it back on otherwise. Better too, to know if they were multi-calling him. How anxious were they to get their hands on him? Odd that Connell hadn’t barreled into his mind yet. Where’s my own special vampire mind reader when I need him? After checking bathroom tissue and towel levels and the state of the floor and fixtures in both restrooms, all good as they weren’t all that busy yet, he signed off on the action sheet and quickly washed his hands before returning to behind the counter.
“All good?”
“They’re fine.”
As the first patrons started to trickle in for the meal rush the manager passed by Daze and him, “Good timing on the restroom checks. Next time take care of your cell before clocking in, ‘K? We don’t offer fried phones on the menu.” She shuddered and went on towards the Takeout Window.
Their, “Yes, ma’am,” was quickly replaced by a happy chorus of “Welcome to MacDonalds. What can we serve you tonight?” Everett didn’t have time to wonder about Connell’s mental abstinence … much, he realized at the end of his shift when he made that lonely dumpster visit.
“One of your boyfriends is here for you,” his manager told him with a smile, “you can leave early if you want.” She scanned the closed restaurant, “there’s only the grill area to do and Daze can do that.”
Call him paranoid. He pulled out his phone and hit speed dial for Stephen. “Hey, is it you or Conn outside waiting for me?”
“What?! No! We’re both here. I was just getting ready to pick you up. SHIT!” In the background he heard Stephen shouting words at Connell. “We’ll be right there. Do not go out!”
Everett snapped the phone shut. “Not my boyfriend. I think I’ll help Daze do the clean up and stay inside until my ride does arrive.”
Eyes tense, she looked at him. “Good idea. Maybe I should call the cops.”
He shook his head, “Naw. My ride is bringing someone with him who’ll talk to whoever my stalker is out there.”
She nodded, travelling back to the office muttering fractured sentences that included, “bullet holes.” If she wasn’t going to call the cops, she was going to look up the company’s 24 hour emergency number for glass pane repairs. Probably both, Everett thought staring after her.
It took twelve minutes and one clean grill area for the cops to show up with two cars and thirteen minutes for Connell. Everett was out the door and standing next to Connell with Stephen on his other side as the man in the other vehicle was asked to step out of the car. “Warren,” Connell muttered.
“This the guy you called about Christie,” one cop called to the night manager.
Standing just outside the doors she called back, “that’s him.”
“License and registration, please sir.” Things were written down and cautions given before the police left believing it just another domestic misunderstanding.
Warren walked just close enough to speak without having to raise his voice. “Mr. Brewster, your friends at the Donation Clinic were just worried about you. Do you have a contract signed yet or are you still free to change your donating?” His attention turned to Connell, “We’ve not heard of any negotiations having been finalized. That’s strange isn’t it?”
“Not strange at all. We’re still in the courtship stage.”
“Courtship?! You’re going for a double consort? They’ll never let you get away with that, especially with this one.”
“Hey,” Everett interrupted, “I’m not anything like a slave. You can’t buy and sell me! I’m a free agent.” Both Warren and Connell hushed him. “Well, I’m not,” he said quieter.
“No, you’re not,” Warren agreed, “but until you’re negotiated and signed there are others who will try to convince you that you’ll be better with committed blood play with them or that less monogamous relations with many of us could give you as much pleasure, perhaps even more with than Connell. Variety is enjoyable. You could be a very wealthy man, with all the benefits that come with that. When you’re old, you’ll still have youthful sexual partners desiring to spend time with you.”
“That’s enough.”
“He’s still free to make his own decisions, Connell. He can choose any one or ones of us that he wants.”
Everett edged over towards Stephen who whispered to him, “Watch, they’re going to get into a pissing contest soon.”
“Did you bring popcorn?” he whispered back.
“No, there wasn’t time.”
“Too, bad.”
Two sets of eyes glared at them, though Connell’s held a twinkle.
“Here it comes,” Stephen whispered and moved over to meld his body into Connell’s side. Everett watched as with the proverbial cliché of lightning, Connell’s hand rose and delivered a resounding crack on Stephen’s lower cheeks where it remained possessively. Warren nodded and returned to his car driving off to leave the three in the parking lot.
“Don’t suppose that you’ve any ice and water we could avail ourselves of,” Connell asked.
“What … how are you going to use it?”
Stephen grinned at him in a grimace, “we’re like Boy Scouts. We come prepared.”
“Back in a sec.” Everett bounded into the restaurant to get an extra large glass of ice with water, and waving goodnight to Christie and Daze returning at a lope back out. Stephen was moaning softly where he stood on the far side in the shadows leaning folded against the car top. Connell was nowhere to be seen until Everett came around the front of the vehicle.
“Fill the ice bag that’s on the seat half way and then cap it,” Connell mentally told him and then because the link was still in place, “Now where else do you think a bruise will form, baby?” was asked to Stephen.
“Anywhere around there,” Stephen said vaguely. “There, oh there.”
“Why do I think this has nothing to do with where I nip you and everything to do with where my fingers are?”
“It’s because you’re a highly intelligent man and Everett better remember, I gave my ass for him.”
Everett was well aware and in great discomfort because of it. Being ‘a highly intelligent person’ Connell was too, warning, “Neither of you comes until after we get home.”

Date: 2014-06-28 07:43 am (UTC)1. Everett may not be a man slut like Warren obviously is, and might actually want a monogamous relationship where he's loved and treasured and thought of as more than just a blood cow! ::hmmph::
And
2. Seems to me like Stephen is actually part of the attraction for Everett - a friend/lover who is a bit more normal and can help him cope with the scary vampire things and keep him company when Connell is sleeping and stuff.
Stupid Warren needs to go buy a clue, not a blood donor! ::is grumpy and opinionated::
Re: *blinking eyes to remove goop that collects on them*
Date: 2014-06-28 08:01 am (UTC)I think that we might get to see Warren again next chapter. Only have a faint inkling what he'll be doing, well maybe not too faintly. *grins*
Stephen is part of the attraction. This will be a menage a something. Hand to eyes. A most unusual menage by vampire standards... Can I write 4? *head desk* It's Warren's fault, all Warren's fault. Stephen is going to be interesting in this.

Date: 2014-06-29 07:00 am (UTC)Everett may still run away, but he wants Stephen and Connell and they've chosen to live by the counsel's rules. Don't know if this is an entire country's territory that the counsel controls or if it's by state or what we call counties.
I get impatient that my mind doesn't write faster to reveal the story to me.
