“Not yet, the bait’s not been fully taken. Watch Wilton’s face. We’ll know when the hook’s well and truly set.”

“But sir, what if they eat him?”

The Captain laughed, “Oh, I’m sure that he’s being nibbled on now. Look how he’s thrusting his hips.” He turned to look at his ensign, “Remember, Wilton volunteered for this.”

“Is this worth it though sir?” The question was asked nervously.

“A few more dips in the ocean and we can go back to port rich men," the Captain replied.

“But sir, whoring, to the merfolk …”

No, the ensign, is prudish about sailors whoring themselves, and to non-humans yet. This wasn't the way his previous sailing was conducted but he'd heard that the 'The Hooking Man' brought in lots of treasure, so he signed on.

*sighs* Wilton will keep offering to be the bait.
