This has got to be a familiar and I wouldn't be surprised that it was Schrodinger's Cat that put him in a box after that philosophical physics metaphor.

PS have you seen any from Beryl or Osiris? Cos they stopped updating in October and I don't know if its just me not seeing their posts. I miss them!

Beryl posted something on lj but all that was left was that it had been deleted before I got to it. That was within the last couple days.

Schrodinger a wizard, that possibility occurred to me too. In which case, he cheated because if a familiar can't live within a sealed box or for that matter get out of one periodically to use the cat box, eat and drink, and get reading material and new batteries for the flashlight...

Actually we are the superior intelligence on the planet. They just know how to work us but we know how to do what they want when they want it and if not then how to shift their attention to other things.

Only when you go away from home leaving them behind and come back do you get the real cold shoulder.

Lets think about that a moment.

Who has to go out to work?
Who has to worry about/pay bills?
Who has to do housework?
Who has to prepare and cook food?
Who has to buy and pamper a pet to get a cat-cuddle?
Who faces any number of stressors on any given day?

Who gets to stay home all day and only go out if they choose to?
Who has everything they want given to them with a nice scritch?
Who has their food made and extra biccies on demand?
Who gets cuddles simply because they look cute?
Who laughs in the face of stress and scrams it?

And who is the superior speices?
Most Cats have more sense than to be truely independant.

You're right, with the correct owner... I want to be a cat.

Spaying I'm not so sure of but that time of the month for a female cat is not pleasant so I'm told. Male cats... they got it made if they don't spray.

Yes his lordship has moved from his cushion on the sofa (Fish Supervision) ans gone to claim the bed. Exhausting.

Mating is painful for the female too.

You've a cover over the tank that is cat impregnable? Our gerbil tank used to have a heavy duty screen over top and the cat would lie on it looking down at them.
Many fish covers have lights which makes them warm and cuddly and there are vids of what happens when cats jump on to where they think they can perch on a fish tank that doesn't have a cover.

We used to have a hamster Ratbag would sleep on the cage and he'd jump/climb up so they could sniff noses.

This has a canopy with a light. Saw nice ones with a glass lid and the light suspended over them but they cost more. He doesn't go near that unit anyway its just mild curiosity over the movements.

Oh hell! I don't think I want to watch those vids o.O
