FB3X Drabble Cascade #38 - Cavalier
Title: Apparition (G, supernatural)
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 100
Prompt: cavalier
It's odd the thoughts that go threw my mind while weighing if it's really worth the curiosity to open the front door. There's that cold chill.
Since when did the front foyer become an integral section of the house’s living space, elevated from an entryway where hats, shoes, and coats were removed, left to drip mud or rain? A bookcase lined one side of it now and a long beveled glass side table the other, underneath which shoes had migrated in a loosely uncoordinated pile. You could still walk through from the door but the area had become a hallway more than a small graceful place to invite people into a home; which made it very odd that there was a spur booted, swordsman standing there.

Date: 2013-12-06 10:13 pm (UTC)The description set the foyer into my head and then you planted a cavalier right in the centre.
underneath which shoes had migrated in a loosely uncoordinated pile. I like your turn of phrase here.
Nicely done.

Date: 2013-12-07 05:04 am (UTC)This is a fair description of my foyer. I was staring at it or rather the door debating if I wanted to go near it. Don't think the mailman came today, or that's what I'm telling myself, there's No reason to go outside at all.
Shoes do tend to migrate to under the table.
