Meep gave me this plunny, though I expect she didn’t mean to. Meep's recounting of Saturday's visit to the beach

It was warm inside the shop, at least in comparison to the outside where the waves played tag, occasionally splatting against the glass windows. Dewi huddled himself close to the coffee urns where it was warmer, fussing with cleaning the area, minutely changing things until they were precisely the best arrangement, for now anyway. One eye he kept on the patrons, in anticipatory dread when they would open the door to leave or come in and allow the wind entrance. There were wild things abroad out there. He really wasn’t sure that coming for a short holiday and staying was such a good idea anymore.

The playful intermittent tinkle of the small bell above the door where drafts flickered was replaced by a louder announcement that a new patron had entered. Dewi wasn’t too sure how he’d missed the hurried often times erratic lurching approach of a person to the door. Normally he would have noticed before they’d gotten close to the door but perhaps the rough waves’ rising reaching had dulled him to movement outside.

The man was soaked, as if he’d stepped from out of the tide himself, his clothing in that darkened curious rumpled folding as they molded to the figure they were clad to and his hair plastered long onto his shoulders. If ever there was a person in need of hot coffee this was one, for the man’s skin was dead white and stained slightly with a bluish green cast. His eyes were hot though, lustfully focused on Dewi, and he evidently hadn’t his land legs yet after walking in the wind for he lurched slightly as he approached the counter where warm sustenance waited.

Dewi didn’t even notice as the locals discretely left, leaving him to see to the needs of the latest patron even though one of them had lifted the OPEN sign and changed it to CLOSED as they went out. It wasn’t often the sea took sacrifice in the person of one of Captain Jack’s crew coming on land looking for a new conscript. The locals were just glad it wasn’t one of theirs that were ever chosen.
