FB3X Drabble Cascade #27 - Season

Drabble Cascade at FB3X - Every Tuesday

Title: The Last Days of Summer, the Zombie edition (G, m/m)
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 100
Prompt: Season
Blame this on Mee_eep. Why yes I am giggling. Meep's the one who confused copse and corpse.

Sunlight filtered through the leaves of orange and yellow and green. It fell on the quilt spread over still sweetly soft grass and onto what had spilled out of it. They’d been in a hurry after the long walk from the car bringing the corpse with them to under the trees, first bumping shoulders as they stumbled along and then holding hands as they got further from the roadway. No sense announcing what they intended to anybody passing by.
He growled in pleasure, kissing James in the dappled light before they started ripping into the flesh of their picnic meal.

Perfectly normal to slide right over that word and add an R. *snickers*
This and the other are a matched set. One sweet and the other *GRINS*.

You're welcome. *grins*
I'm lost in ancient Cornwall with the Dumnonii. Fascinating.
The UK stashes so much diversity in such a small nation.

Oh why thank you *glares at Meep* Just let this be the first thing I read again, after having been offline for too long *eyeroll*

Now I have to wash out my eyes before I can go on *whines*

OH you're in luck, there's a perfectly lovely one that isn't the zombie version, if this is the first one you read.
I wrote the other first and then meep mentioned corpse so I had to write the zombie version after. They are very alike. *grins* Well except for the zombies.

Yes thank you for providing the cure for this first!

I can see how Meeps innocent query would have led to this *shakes head* I've missed you both! *hugs*

We've missed you more.

*goggle eyes* You really think that this was an 'innocent' query on Meep's part? You have been gone too long. She was asking for it. *nods head* She may deny it but I know how to read between the lines.

How's that poem go? A jug of wine,a fresh corpse, and thou? Ah, zombie love . . .

Lol--this is brilliant, Charis. And surprisingly sweet, what with the tentative bumping shoulders followed by actual hand holding. :)

Thank you.
This is a match to the Drabble Cascade just before this one.
The first one written is sweet sans zombies. Meep noticed the similarities between corpse and copse. So I had to write the zombie version, tweaking it a bit.*grins* It was fun.
