FB3X Drabble Cascade #27 - Season

Drabble Cascade at FB3X - Every Tuesday

Title: The Last Days of Summer (G, m/m)
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 100
Prompt: Season

Sunlight filtered through the leaves of orange and yellow and green. It fell on the quilt spread over still sweetly soft grass and the picnic basket open, spilling out its contents. They’d been in a hurry after the long walk from the car to the copse of trees, first bumping shoulders as they walked and then holding hands as they got further from the roadway. No sense announcing what they were in search of to anybody passing by.
He smiled up into the tree contented and then rolled over to kiss James where he lay naked in the dappled light.

Yep *grumble* clearing a bit now; had a bath, sniffing a coffee - starting to feel better.

What was I thinking? It must be someone else who writes ghouls, zombies and ceremonial manslaughter with added dub-con in the woods. o.0

Oooooooh. Totally different spin on if they're going to make love next to a corpse... how romantic ... for zombies. Of course they would be stumbling from the car instead of walking.

Re: no commment fits this..

Aaaaaah, this is much better! *happy sigh*

*reads again* *and again*

Why Meep would think 'corpse' instead of 'copse' in a story by you is a huge question. *innocent smile*

Not like I would have misread it if I wouldn't have read the other story first *grins* *coughing fit* *tries to don aureole again* *fails*

*SNICKERS* It was fun writing the same story in two versions.
Is this how you wash your eyes? *snickering more*
I use to confuse the two, corpse and copse. *grins* I learned to look closer.

I can image how much fun it was!

Yes this is very easing for the hurting eyes ^_^

ah, linguistic distinctions learned by innocent readers? *innocent look* Closer look at copse or corpse?

We have a song here, it starts with 'when the grass is two asses high...' Maybe you know what comes next (or should I say who) *runs away giggling*

*catches you*

I knew the word corpse before I knew the word copse. Reading is so important to learning vocabulary. Confused me, that the same word could be used for a bunch of trees together and a dead person. Maybe it is like the Pilgrims learned for planting corn. Plant a few corn seeds atop a dead fish. Come to think of it that's common. People love to plant trees or shrubs over the grave of a loved one. Tree gives you shade and a marker for visiting the grave.

I don't know that song. What is the next line or lines after 'when the grass is two asses high...'?
