Rubbing his face into the pillow like a small child, Stephen sleepily nuzzled into Anthony’s scent on the linen before rolling to his back with a groan. Parts of him hurt and memories of his lost card game arose as well as the grief that preceded it.

“You’re awake love,” was more a statement than a question.

He dragged his hands down over his face, hiding behind them and muttering a morose affirmative through stiff uncooperative lips.

The sheet was lifted and thrown to the side exposing the embarrassment of his early morning hardness. His Great-uncle Elias was dead, why could his body not show some respect for the man he loved like his own Father.

A rustling of the bedclothes heralded the tilting of the bed under him as someone climbed onto it, warm thighs settling to either side over his hips and pinning him to the sheets. Blurry eyed he watched in disbelief as the bare flesh astride him leaned forward to place a kiss upon his lips. Anthony never stayed into the morning.

“Don’t you have someplace to go today,” he asked. Stephen was sure that he remembered, somewhat groggily, that there was engagement that Anthony had this morning. He missed totally the quick looping tethering to his wrists until they were affixed to the headboard.

“This is how it’s going to be, I’m going to ride you and you are going to tell me a memory of your Great-uncle Elias. Tell me the good ones, the humorous ones, the ones that on looking back were bad at the time but now you treasure. We’re going to honor him in memories for the man he was, that will always be stored here,” Anthony put his hand on Stephen’s chest rising up and sliding into place, “in your heart.”

Stephen groaned feeling Anthony, Lord Melrose, engulf him and quite frankly his mind deserted him for a moment. Anthony grinned at him and drew himself up and then down a few times.

“So Uncle Elias liked other men, even as you did,” Anthony prompted. “How did you discover that?” He lifted himself and paused.

“Don’t stop!”

“Answer the question.”

“He caught me looking through a book from the shelves in his library.”

“And what was inside the book?”

“Words,” Anthony slid part way down, pausing to clench around the fullness and Stephen garbled out, “and drawings of men together doing what we’re doing.” Anthony rose to the top hovering, teetering on the tip.

“What did he say when he caught you?”

“He came in and shut and locked the door. Told me to make sure to choose a chair out of sight of the doorway if I was going to read in his library and then asked if I had any questions.”

With a quiet smile Anthony asked, “and did you?”

“Loads. And he answered every one. Said I should ask him if I thought of any others in the future or if I needed advice.” Stephen swallowed, “I asked him about you.”

Tilting his head to the side Anthony looked down at his lover, “That about a month before our first card game?”

“Yesssssss. Tony move for God’s sake.”

Grinning, “He came to see me. Asked me my intentions in a most straight forward manner.” He chuckled, “Had me quaking in my boots.”

“They’re nice boots. Pleeeeeease.”

“Yes, he said that to me just before he left, about my boots, right after warning me that if I broke your heart he’d take a whip to me.”

Stephen froze, “he didn’t,” then uncertainly, “he did?”

A smile quirked Anthony’s mouth, “He did indeed. Finest warning I’ve ever been given and I’m glad. I’ve got you in my life and,” he leaned forward to kiss Stephen again to an answering groan at the change in position, “I intend to keep you for as long as you’ll have me.”

Their session was long and protracted with tears and groans and laughter through the afternoon. Great-Uncle Elias was laid to rest in the most excellent way possible, stored in two people’s hearts.

Oh, this is just lovely! Lol, I love how Anthony, um, plans to 'work' Stephen through his grief, and how he's doing it in a away that will help Stephen both remember all the good things about his uncle (and his uncle's kindness and teachings) and in a way that won't have Stephen feeling guilty for being aroused while in mourning. Perfect :D

This makes me feel good. Thank you.

Anthony is diabolically brilliant in his therapy but lust will do that to you when you love someone.
