“Why is your brother walking so strangely?”

Everett considered and then nodded, “Yesterday was Friday, he plays cards with a friend every Thursday.”

The lady beside him wrinkled her forehead in confusion, “What does that have to do with how he walks?”

Smothering a laugh, he did not tell her that if she thought his brother walked oddly, she’d be more baffled with how carefully he sat. “Well, that means he lost.”

“I still don’t understand.”

Shrugging Everett said, “Whatever the stakes are for that game, he just smiles saying he lost this time but he’ll get payback next round.”
