I find the ad for imvu on the lj opening page to be questionable.
Meet new friends. Uh huh. Am sure that the picture of the cute school girl in suggestible clothing will bring all kinds of people that parents would like their kids to meet.
Sex sells. But who are they selling to and why this way? To put a semi-good face on it, maybe they're trawling for predators.
And maybe I'm just over sensitive to this topic right now. *sigh* Am diving under the blanket again and believing that the world is only populated by good people.

I had the same exact response as you did, but couldn't muster up enough energy to post or protest.

The three-D figure or avatar or whatever it is was totally "schoolgirl" porn in every way.

I don't know how conscious it is or what they're selling, but yes--if I had more energy I'd like to point out how questionable that image is in the context of "new" policies regarding illegal activities.

Exactly. Am sure that they are just taking advertising money without really looking at what they might be enabling. They couldn't possibly be supporting their "new" policies, which are so current politically correct, and supporting child predators at the same time, now could they.:P
