Yes, so many ways to interperate the plot on that story or mark the student down for not putting a question mark at the end of the sentence.

I just realized, there's no question mark at the end. So does this imply that the person knows who did it after all, sarcasm, or the author forgot their punctuation? Deep. Very deep.

But is 'I wonder who did it' a question or a statement? Sure, you'd generally pronounce it in a querying tone, but it's not actually a direct query, you wouldn't ask someone 'I wonder who got me pregnant?' you'd ask 'do you know who got me pregnant?', or 'did you get me pregnant?', but you would make a statement about wondering about who got you pregnant. It's a tricky one.
