All of us have at some time and to some degree experienced having the walls to our soul torn down by the enemy. The soul is like a city which we are to protect from the enemy. The soul is made up of the mind, will and emotions. When the walls are torn down, the enemy has a free access to our minds, our emotions, or our will. *GRINS*
Cold, the area was cold, inflicting a numbness that reached inside to the core. He gathered his woolen jacket more closely around himself, tucking his hands up under the protection of his crossed arms. The body lay face down, legs splayed from the assault, congealing blood pooled between them.
“Have you looked at the other side?”
“What’s the use? You know what we’ll find.”
Will was correct if this was like the other bodies that had been recently found. The victims were young, chosen without regard to gender and 8 out of 10 on the attractiveness scale. They would also be gone shortly if things continued in the prior murders time line. One minute they were there dead and the next it was as if they’d just wandered off, leaving the investigators without a body to give the medical examiner for official determination of death. Unofficially, the victims had died from a brutal sexual assault but there’d be no way to prove it as even the blood would be gone.
“Post an officer to watch the body until the ME gets here to transport. Tell ‘em to not take their eyes off it for even a minute.”
He turned away to start the questioning of the witnesses, what witnesses that could be found, which wasn’t many. That was another thing that the cases had in common, few if any witnesses, in spite of the assaults taking place where and when one would expect there to be many. From the corner of his eye, he noticed that Will had delegated himself to watcher duty and he smiled. He wasn’t the only one frustrated at disappearing corpses.
Taking the information down from the third witness, he faced around positioning himself to place the body and its watcher in his view. It couldn’t hurt to have an extra set of eyes on the crime scene. Briefly he glanced over dividing his attention from his scribbling and paused. He frowned. The scene was different and vaguely he caught the sight of someone leisurely moving away in the distance. At least there was a body still on the ground but where was the other cop?
‘Focus,’ he told himself. ‘What’s different?’
The blood was different. Redder. Fresher. He blinked. The head was turned away when it should have been facing his direction and the hips were slightly elevated. He shook his head, ‘when did he become a perv and ogle the pale flesh of dead men’s asses, no matter how nicely rounded they were?’ It took him a moment to realize that the pants were the wrong color. They should have been red stained khaki. These were regulation navy.
“Dear God, no,” he spoke in an undertone walking towards the body lying on the ground with ever increasing speed. “Officer Waters, get over here!” He called for help.
The body was different and protocol be damned, he flipped the corpse over to see the face.
“Will..” he moaned, swallowing the thickness gathered around his larynx. “How did this happen? We were all right here. We lost one body and the person monitoring it is left in its place just as dead, just as obscenely displayed.” “HOW!” he barked hoping for an answer from someone in the team of accumulated fellow officers.
It was an answer that no one gave him until it was demonstrated days later when he was off duty and into numbing his thoughts with a fourth beer. He was so cold.
“Will,” he whispered hopefully to the figure that stepped into his apartment after the scratching of a key in the lock.
Will smiled at him with that sweet grin that had turned him to mush in that darkened bar over a year ago. The same quirking of lips that had convinced him to bottom for the first time in his sexual career.
Dimly he heard the muted rattle of a belt loosening and the rasp of a zipper working. Vaguely he noticed the cold hit his legs but it was Will there in front of him worrying his shirt up to get for better access. It was Will’s hands clutching at his now bare ass cheeks pulling him closer. The hard bites ripping into flesh were hazily felt, it was Will’s mouth pulling hungrily at his nipples and he pressed needily into it. Cloth tearing rent the air but who was listening. He was raised and his body arched as with one violent thrust in, his ass was split open but ‘that was alright, the blood would act as lube.’
“Faster!” he panted. “Harder! Fuck me harder, Will!” He put his arms around Will’s neck to lever himself into synchronization with the deepening driving impacts, winding his legs around the waist of his lover. “More! More. More, more, more.” Will shifted him to kneel doggy style, his ass raised wantonly in offering before the slapping of flesh on flesh of an ass being thoroughly, vigorously plowed should have been heard through the walls.
‘Look away. Don’t hear this. Forget.’ The compulsion eased through the protective walls of minds in the surrounding area of the freshly occurring crime scene.
The body lay upon the floor in his last fucking position, blood slowly darkening as the clotting started to happen. Will waited because this one he knew, loved. He watched as the blood was drawn back into the body it had temporarily flowed out of. It was needed to impregnate the virus into other bodies. When his lover rose, Will did too, helping him up before they left together, unremarked by any of the neighbors.
They made their way towards the obscurely lit bar down the street where lurking predators were often found. An hour later, the bodies were discovered in alleys that had been accessed through backdoors and oral cavities.
Some of them had already risen. The pathogen hunted but it had mutated further with the last pair. The new ones were more aware and cunning and sometimes they left the victims alive, barely.
