Again smut free..sort of. This was where my mind really was traveling. *shakes head at plunnies of Saskia and Meep*
inspired by Hermes
Wings. There were wings on the motorcycle logo, Harley Davidson if he remembered properly. He saw it two lanes over on the back window of a car in front of him. He starting wondering why the wings. What made them choose that to put on the logo when the nearest thing he could think of like it was the caduceus that Mercury carried and where the hell did that come from?
Wings. Birds had them. Humming birds beat their little wings so fast you couldn’t see them as other than a blur of motion. Egyptian goddesses had them. He remembered seeing them amongst the photos of artifacts found in the King Tut tomb.
Winged beings. The Ark of the Covenant supposedly had them. Mesopotamians had winged protective beings that guarded kings on palace gates and seals. Hermes himself had wings on all sorts of places, Whitney smiled at the whimsy of a drawing he’d seen recently. There’d been wings on Hermes’ hat, ankles, back, staff, Whit wouldn’t be surprised if there’d not have been more except there wasn’t really any place to put them in the drawing. That concealing cloth didn’t cover much of the god’s body. ‘Not what one should be thinking of while driving. Mind on the road,’ he thought.
Perhaps, that’s where Whitney’s mind should have been. Angels don’t take kindly to people mentally ogling their winged brothers. Hermes was one of theirs. And so the Angel of death was sent down. Whitney saw a flash of light and then there was nothing and it’s not like Hermes was going to guide him to the underworld after that mental train of thought.
