The banner caught his attention; “I Like It” Contest over a picture of the cityscape and below and part of the banner, “Colon “Meet N’ Greet”.
Oh, what the hell, for shits and giggles (and mentally he giggled like a schoolboy at that) he clicked on the link to see what it was about. The combination of a colon ‘meeting and greeting’ with ‘I like it’ amused him.
March Is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
He’d been aware of the promotional information about this procedure in the past. It was still February but evidently the local hospital was kicking off its public awareness campaign early. His GP had started strongly suggesting he do this after his last checkup.
What could it hurt to go to this ‘Meet N’ Greet’? It wasn’t like they could ‘slam, bam, and thank you man’ without his permission and there was the prep work that the victim had to do before the procedure could be performed. The information might make him more comfortable with having someone go ‘where no person had gone before‘. In the back of his mind the word ‘Contest’ hovered.
‘Company policy encouraged employees to be health proactive,’ Thomas thought and he had his assistant clear his calendar on Friday. He’d come back with extra pamphlets and informational sheets and put it down to doing his managerial duty. Maybe he’d even make an appointment, if he wasn’t scared shitless by what he learned. Still, that “I Like It”? niggled at him.
Five weeks later, he decided he didn’t like it and told the cute physician with the nice ass that he didn’t. Some things were suppose to be done in private. Of course he was still under the effects of the medication so the doctor had patted his hand and said he’d see him in 30 minutes when he finished his paperwork.
“I feel shiny on the inside.”
Anthony took his eyes off the road to glance at his lover and grinned. “I took extra care when I examined your colon. The shiny is a by product of the procedure. Right now you sparkle inside ‘cause I want you around for a long time.”
“Really? I sparkle?”
The cute physician with the nice ass, rolled his eyes. “No babe. But hold that thought because I’m going to blackmail you with this later. But just in case you’re listening, I love you.”
Thomas smiled, “Love you more.”
“No you don’t. I love you more.”
“Nope. I do and ‘I’ sparkle.”
Anthony laughed. “You’re a nut and I’m glad you came to the colorectal meet n’ greet.”
“Me too, otherwise wouldn’t have met you. What was the Contest about by the way?”
“Oh you won. You got the doctor and a clean bill of health.”
“I like that. And do I get the doctor tonight?”
“No babe. The doctor gets you but first we’re going to eat.”
Thomas licked his lips suggestively which earned a groaned laugh.
“That too.”

Date: 2012-02-22 04:17 am (UTC)But I understand. Growing up, a friend had a father who was her doctor. He did all the family's medical checkups even when she was 16 and 17. I had problems with that and still do because of the incest nature of it. Between Thomas and Anthony, the loving came first even if they met through Thomas investigating the medical procedure that is Anthony's medical field. Notice that Anthony didn't kiss him while in the office but goes for the comforting of a pat of the hand. Separation of office and private life.

Father doing medical check-ups for teenage daughter? Eew - also violates her right to privacy - what if she had things she wanted to discuss with a Dr that she didn't want to share with her Dad?
