Title: A Tale of Two Kitties for Starters
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 300
No kittens were consumed in the composition of this fic. 'Starters' are appetizers in Brit speak right?
Happened to find a copy of Dickens at the Public Library on sale for a donation. *GRINS* Large Print.
It did not help that Warne stood quoting, “ It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness… ” Both Ranel and Reies turned from their previous focus to glare at him.
“Warne!” Then they turned back and contemplated what to do, ignoring the grin their reprimand had created.
“Sooooooo, do you think normal shampoo will work?”
“I. Don’t. Know.” Then with a snap of his fingers, “I’ll call the Dads. Surely we did something like this at least once or if not us then,” here he interjected a solemn hollow tone, “the Ancient Ones.”
Warne snorted, “You’d better hope that your older brothers don’t hear that you’re calling them that.”
Ranel stuck out his tongue at him as he went out of the room, leaving Reies and Warne to consider the mess.
“Surely there’s something you can think of to correct this.”
Warne shook his head, “Disney has a lot to take the blame for on this one. Next time we screen the movie first before letting the kittens watch anything.”
Glumly Reies agreed, “yes, never thought that kittens could attempt a fantasy changing color magic and have it work.”
“Well they are Ranel’s and my kittens.”
Reies rolled his eyes and looked down at Nebbie and Tux, “Well no more playing Sleeping Beauty for you two,” and was interrupted by a shout from Ranel.
The faint frisson of magic being done shivered inside the house. Warne and Reies groaned. Where two had tried, it should not have been unexpected that the other three would follow. There was angry hissing coming from outside the room that was explained when they saw Ranel’s now tortoiseshell patchwork of beautiful colors. He hadn’t ducked in time.

Date: 2012-02-18 01:28 am (UTC)I want to know what movie they were watching (I'm not up on Disney).
Heh, I wonder if we should let them watch Shrek - I think they already have the big cute appealing eye thing going on.
I wonder if Ranel and Warne (and Reies) have DVD's the kittens can't watch like the Papas do.

Date: 2012-02-18 03:56 am (UTC)At the end the good fairies keep changing Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora)'s dress to the color that they favor, you can tell what that is by looking at the color coordination of the fairy's own outfit. So one will look and go, "oh that will not do" and with a wave of the wand poof the Prince has a partner with a different colored gown. This becomes the battle of the colors until finally all the colors happen at once and the gown is white. But for a while Aurora's gown was kalidescoping through the colors of pink, blue, and yellow? Okay watched the ending here. No yellow. I remember it differently. *sighs* I am old.

Date: 2012-02-19 04:38 pm (UTC)The color changing of the dress is what lets the Maleficent's raven spot the hiding princess in the first place. If they'd waited just one more day to pull out their wands, the movie would have been very different. But I can't understand how those three managed to raise Aurora without magic when one frosts and candles the cake without baking it and the other starts the dress by making a hole for her feet.

Date: 2012-02-19 06:42 pm (UTC)I loved the dress color changing scenes. *grins* The baking of cakes sans magic and the starting of the dressmaking at the bottom hem are so unreal that of course they are magic. It is a fairy tale.. now what do fae tell their children? Human tales? *snickers* Commercials.
Thank you. I love your comments.
