For meridae who needs cheering.
Regarding his small audience of four, Brian wondered how it was that he was the one giving this speech. Sure he was a soldier and had advised young men under his command of the facts of life before. His listeners had been older though, usually had some prior knowledge, and most importantly weren’t his own children who could connect the dots as to what their parents did behind locked doors. Then he thought about Duke being the one doing the instruction and shuddered. No, it was best if Brian was the educator; Balthazar would go into too much detail. The kittens would be in a mounded pile of furry bodies giving little snuffles; if they would be muffled snickers or snoozing kittens would be unsure. If it’s one thing he had learned from the first litter, kittens can tell when you are nervous talking about a subject and in most cases thought it very funny in an adult.
Which brought him back to his present situation; those eight little round eyes were too intent on him. He was reminded of trying to explain oral sex to this difficult group when Gilles had been caught by them with Elliott. Evidently he wasn’t the only one who remembered that prior talk when somewhat later in the discussion, it was Erhard who asked why Elliott wasn’t pregnant.
Brian tried to remember that little mouths and minds were directly linked without the filter that grew with age and experience. Erhard had blurted his question out, off topic and after Brian had already, with inward relief, passed that point in the presentation. Very carefully Brian went over what oral sex entailed again and recapped how pregnancy occurred. He desperately prayed that would answer the question but knowing that particular kitten it wouldn’t be the only question that would have him sweating. Not to be outdone, the other kittens became brave and the Papa Brian vs. the Sex Education Monster Speech became hairy.
Much later, and Brian thought that it only ended there because the kittens had become bored, Balthazar found him with a bottle of their best brandy and a glass. The glass was still pristine and the bottle noticeably less full.
Amusement hidden but not well enough to spare him a glare from his gallant husband, Balthazar asked, “So, the talk went well?” It was poor timing that Duke chose then to enter, asking if they knew where was the disk with the three of them getting it together.
Balthazar’s casually drawled question of, “where are the kittens right now?” was asked over top of Brian’s groaned mutter, “never again.”
“Scampering around upstairs,” was answered to him as Duke set to rubbing himself around and through Brian’s legs as Balthazar held his captive.
With a kiss and a nod, Balthazar decided purring, “We really don’t need any distracting video. Let’s create something new and check if Brian knows the material he just preached.” With a word or two, he held in his arms a tawny cat and walked with speed to their bedroom, Duke setting the familiar kitten proof lock after them. None of the three noticed that the noise level had dropped outside the room.
“So, you think they’re doing it now?” asked the one at the shelving unit.
One kitten waited patiently cuddled into a corner of the sofa; another was putting in some last minute tongue swipes down the fur on his side; the third shrugged, with his ear to the connecting wall trying to hear through the sound quenching enchantment.
The one at the shelves turned with a disk marked with three Xs in his hand , only to be reprimanded with, “You chose last time, Erhard. I want to watch the one Papa Duke called the House of the 7 Vertically Challenged Guys.” And so they did.

Date: 2011-08-05 06:06 pm (UTC)How likely that brian is going to have a third litter.. meridae likes mpreg too *snickers* I can see the kittens when they are a little older bemoaning to their older siblings about how embarrassing it is to have younger siblings and getting no sympathy.
Imagine that the 'never again' is a knee jerk reaction that many parents feel when their kids do something trying. Wait a while and it's all okay again.
