Waterfall and moss, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

A few spots in this national park in the Blue Ridge Mountains hold traces of the farmland that once dotted the region. But today, most of Shenandoah National Park’s nearly 200,000 acres have been reforested and preserved. Along the way, many of the people who worked the abandoned farms were relocated by the United States government, but a select few were allowed to remain on the land, living out their years while the National Park Service and the Civilian Conservation Corps gradually restored Shenandoah to its original state.

Don't know the scale on this. From the texture of the moss, it looks like this is a close up view. Which makes the 'leaks' of water exquisitely beautiful in their fineness but it is suspect that this scale is larger because of that.

Rakotzbrücke, the German devil's bridge located in Kromlau, is a delight for photographers because of the perfect circle formed by the bridge and its reflection.
