Jonas put the binoculars up to his eyes, focusing down through the leaves. He’d had to wait to allow the foliage to reclaim the blind after the winter, long weeks of staying far away, impatience gnawing at him.

It was worth it though; he thought a smile pulling at his face, ‘He’ was here, and oh, the view. There was just a hint of green to his hair, and yes he was a natural celadon blond. Jonas moaned.

‘If you like the view so much, come closer,’ was whispered in his ear; his quarry grinned widely up at him, fingers toying in places Jonas ached to touch. ‘I won’t bite much and you’ll love it when I do. You’ll scream for me.’

Pretend like you’re not here, Jonas told himself. He can’t really know you’re up here.

‘Human, I know you’re there and salt offers no protection. That’s for demon folk, not Fae.’

Jesus help me, Jonas thought in panic.

‘Fine. Suit yourself,’ the fae shrugged, ‘Soon the rest will be here to celebrate the Fertility Rites. Better for you,’ he smirked, ‘if it’s just me claiming you. I won after all, luring you here, I did see you first.’
