Every day life in a Library.
The globe spun out of control colliding with that dull hollow sound that announces catastrophe. A crack opened in the ocean near Indonesia slicing up towards the Asian continent.
The Library worker, with a glare that could melt flesh from bone, looked at the student. A student who stood gazing forlornly down with an opps plainly spread across his face and a furtive glance around to see if anyone had noticed.
Thunder rent the air, “How many times have you heard me say, to you and others, to treat the Earth with care?!” A deep breath for patience followed, “Now bring it to me!” was growled.
Presented with the globe, the library minion pulled out her Scotch Magic Tape and taped over the new fault line, watching closely as the break sealed leaving only a scar to mark the mishap. With a sigh, she looked deeper and mourned at the devastation the young godling had caused.
“Now put the World back in its proper place. Carefully!” she commanded and went back to reading Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Suess. She so understood Horton’s anxieties.
