We are living in exciting times.
Mar. 11th, 2011 05:04 pmLets see we have earthquakes, and tsunami. Volcanoes are erupting in Hawaii and Indonesia and there's some large flooding in the U.S. at least. The smell of smoke is in the wind as there's a few large grass fires north of here in the DFW area.
All we need is an asteroid strike now to round it all off.
My sister tells me that a patron came into the library and made a $1000 cash donation for the purchase of e-books and then later another patron dropped off donuts.
Clearly the apocalypse is about to happen.
To everyone who has sent sympathy over the fire deaths that recently happened to one of my friends. Thank You. I love you all.

Date: 2011-03-12 01:40 am (UTC)Hopefully, we are not about to go the way of the dinosaurs just yet.
The grass fires are not actually close to where you are?
Hope you are ok and finding ways to come through this hard time.

Date: 2011-03-12 03:01 am (UTC)I just read that they're expecting the death toll to reach 1000. It's just so sad. So, so sad.
Indonesia, New Zealand, to name a few others...
This planet has been doing some very strange things of late.

Date: 2011-03-12 09:12 am (UTC)It is very dry here. There are no fires locally but they are popping up around the state. We have had high winds and because it is so dry you can smell the dirt in the air. There has been a dirt haze at times also.
Very nice about the donations.

Date: 2011-03-13 02:59 pm (UTC)At this point, considering the area it's in, I'm waiting for Godzilla to attack Tokyo.*sigh*
I feel for the families over there.

Date: 2011-03-12 06:58 pm (UTC)Interesting times.. yes a curse. Also a blessing because it strips away many barriers and the best of people can be allowed to show.

Date: 2011-03-13 02:45 pm (UTC)Sadly the donuts did not get eaten. Nobody even opened the box. Now that is a sure sign of the coming apocalypse, which might get here sometime in the next couple billion years.
Disasters.. I'm under orders NOT to be in one. The Dibbs has spoken. *grins*
