If you’ve experienced an issue with cleaning your crock pot, you’re going to seriously appreciate this cleaning tip. Sara from Life Should Cost Less explained that your crock pot can actually clean itself with only some water, distilled vinegar, and baking soda. She explains that all you have to do is fill your slow cooker with water (when it’s set to off). You want to ensure you have enough water in the dish so that the line of residue is completely submerged.

Next, add one cup of vinegar to the water. Then, slowly pour about a cup of baking soda into the water/vinegar solution. You want to pour the baking soda in slowly so that a big foamy mess doesn’t occur. Now, all you have to do is put the lid on your slow cooker and set it on low for about four to eight hours. When the time is up, unplug the slow cooker and wait for the solution to cool down (it’ll be really hot!).

Then, the only thing you’ll have left to do is give the slow cooker a good rinse. This solution combined with the heat is so effective, you shouldn’t have to do any scrubbing. To see this cleaning method in action, click on the video below.
