Help Information please
Jan. 16th, 2011 01:42 pmI have many many names to add to my already posted list of names and I'd like to list them in columns so they don't take over the world. In words of one syllable or less, how do I do this in an Lj post? Am going to go try and find this in the Lj users manual but I know someone out there already knows how to do this.

First open the table:
(table width="200" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" border="1")(tbody)
Then: (tr) for each row (/tr) and (td) (/td) for a each 'cell' aka column
eg. (tr) (td) column one (/td) (td) column two (/td) (/tr) for two comlumns
then from there (tr) (td) 1st column, 2nd row (/td) (td) 2nd column,2nd row (/td) (/tr)
Then to close table: (/tbody)(/table)
Where )( are >

Date: 2011-01-17 01:20 am (UTC)How does one select a table with no headings? Is it a separate (table) and then below?
I put in your (table width="200" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" border="1")(tbody) subbing in <> for ()
then I (tr and td)- ed my little life away.
Copied the (table width="200" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" border="1")(tbody) and put the / in at the right places.
Alot of F**king work and I don't know if I like it better than the other plain listing. But I learned something *grins* other than how to lose time.
YEA for learning and experience. Lj was getting to the point of "NO, you may not see a preview for the 20 fricking time. Post and go away."

Date: 2011-01-17 06:41 am (UTC)When the LL table got too big LJ would occasionally preview it wrong so I'd spend way too much time trying to figure out where I'd messed up to find it was fine *groan*
It was handy with LL to keep track of who was who when I wanted to refer to someone, but gave up on it. Maybe I'll do a djinn-database one day when I'm bored and avoiding something ;)
