Card Trick Quilt

Supplies:
• 1 Roll of 2½" Print Strips (Contains 40 2.5" x 44" strips of fabric. Some prints are duplicated.)
• 4 yds. Background
• 1¾ yds. Outer Border
• ¾ yd. Binding
• 8½ yds. Backing or 2¾ yds. - 108" wide

Jelly Roll = 2 1/2" wide strips cut into 2 1/2" & 4 1/2" length (count of 6 from each strip)
--- 1 each of 2 1/2" & 4 1/2" strips per color. Need 4 colors per block.
7" squares background fabric (2 per block)
2 1/2" squares of background fabric (4 per block)
Border width - 5"
Basic Card Trick Block
Make 4 patch from the 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" blocks
Sew (2) 4 1/2" strips on opposite sides of 4 patch
Sew (2) 2 1/2" background squares to either side of the other 2 Jelly Roll 4 1/2" strip. Sew these to the remaining opposite sides of the 4 patch
Creating the "On Point"
Snowball 7" background fabric square with 2 1/2" square of Jelly Roll fabric on 2 opposite corners.
Cut in half diagonally from non-snowballed corners
Crease or mark center of hypotenuse (long) side of resulting triangle
Crease or mark center of sides of Card Trick block.
Match centers of triangles to basic block centers and sew.
Have backing fabric 4" larger on all sides if sending to be quilted by Missouri Quilt Co.
