***Wails***I have waited a long time to be able to buy another University of Wisconsin Badgers Rose Bowl Shirt. Imagine my delight when I see the sports news that Wisconsin, where I was born, raised, and went to Unversity, has earned the right to play at Pasadena.

I live in Fort Worth Texas.

Now imagine my dismay when I see who they are playing against.
I WANTED that Rose Bowl Shirt to say UW Badgers Rose Bowl 2011 on it but if the Badgers win....

Ft. Worth is the home of the TCU Horn Frogs.

So Unfair. So, so, so Unfair.

Everybody stop laughing now. *growls*

*grins* Rose Bowl is one of the college football games. Teams play against each other until they've winnowed it down to pairs of the best teams or something like that.
They make t-shirts and other things with the college's logos/name/mascot on them. Toys too. Have a Bucky Badger stuffed toy around here somewhere.

The University of Wisconsin (where I went to school) Badgers are playing against the TCU (Texas Christian University)(where I live now) Horned Toads. Badgers and Horned Toads are the teams' mascots. My icon is a picture of Bucky. He's got a girl friend named Becky. They're badgers.

Think Soccer (your football) and have your Hometown(where you grew up)team play against the Hometown (where you now live) team.
Wisconsin(state in the northern part of U.S.) is into the game but it's not lethally rabid. Texas (another state in the southern part of the U.S.) takes its sports WAY too seriously. Or so it seems.

Thank you. I need the sympathy. Am waiting for my siblings to laugh at me.

Well, by rights 'my' football would be Aussie Rules or rugby, except that you couldn't pay me to care about any organised sport (seriously, I'd have to look up the difference between those two games, I'm pretty sure that's a Federal offence :P).

But I get that you are stuck with the team you support playing against the team you're meant to be supporting, so thank you for your explanation. :)

But look at it this way: either way, your team wins, yes? :P

Another name for the lizard, used when I was growing up is a "Horny Toad". Endangered because they were over collected as pets amongst other things.

I grew up in Madison Wisconsin, HOME of the Wisconsin Badgers. My parents both worked for the UW. I'm helpless before such early indoctrination.

My brother loves me. He lives/works close to the University in Wisconsin. His sympathy is boundless:

"Nobody ever said life was fair!

Pain is a part of life, suffering is optional!"

That cough is still hanging on. *pats you* Normally I'd hand you a soothing hot cup of lemon tea with honey but I have a feeling that that would be like the idiom my mother used: "Carrying coals to Newcastle".
Am sure you know the benefits of tea *coughs* and might even have some at hand.

I boil Lemonade with honey and my dad visits and tries to add Whiskey which would be fine if I wasn't working lol right now everything is tasting of honey though.

oooooooo Hot lemonade sounds good.
Am thinking that what I have is early stage allergy season. Time to step up to one more allergy medication. Then there's the 12 hr. Mucinex to thin the sinus drainage/chest congestion. When it gets really bad I add the antihistamine. They make a disposable bottle of saline solution now to wash the sinus' with. hmm. *considers*

How can you do alcohol when you have a cold? It makes my symptoms worse the next day. Hope yours gets better sooner rather than later.

Lemon and Honey be good :) lol I don't tend to add the Whiskey that's my dad, my heads been so mucky I don't think I'd know the difference though.

Allergies don't sound fun :(
