All done with half-square triangles, arranged in various ways; into pinwheels, chevrons, stars, and flying geese.
42 - 10" squares each - background and pattern fabric
Quilt Size: 87" x 87"
Supplies:
• 1 Package 10" Background Squares
• 1 Package 10" Print Squares
• 1 Yard Accent Fabric (same width as flying geese are tall- 4 1/2")
• ¾ yd. Inner Border
• 1½ yd. Outer Border
• ¾ yd. Binding
• 2¾ yds. Backing - 108" Wide
Use Easy-8 method to make the half-square triangles.
10" squares of background color (probably white) and pattern colors or other colors.
Draw lines diagonally from corner to corner = cutting lines in shape of X.
Sew on either side of these lines.
Cut across block at middle points from side to side in shape of +
Cut on diagonal lines.
Result 8 half-square triangles (4 1/2"). Check size and square up if need be.
Make
64 - flying geese
4 - pinwheels
16 - chevrons
4 - stars
------4 - background fabric 4 1/2" squares for corners
------4 - half-square triangles with background fabric in center
------8 - half-square triangles in pairs, to make 4 background fabric flying geese.
