Summary: After Zombie a la Dick and mee_eep‘s Smart (sexy) Phone this resulted. Ever wonder why the peanut packing material was giggling?
Mee_eep has SUCH good ideas.
Dick was really liking his ‘Where’s my kid/mate/anyone” app on the smart phone Kain had given him. Very useful that had turned out to be too for Trick-or-Treating, the thought of what could have happened still scared him. Not everyone had a djinn as a mate and even then some little djinn were lost and abused. That was what Azre, Jeyanthi and Baxter were hunters to avenge. The kid’s version was really just a GPS chip able to be secreted somewhere on them but he‘d seen the uses for tracking adults too. He hadn’t scrolled through all the app.s yet but there were some real interesting ones that also looked useful other than the one for which Kain had given him the phone. He didn’t think he ever wanted to give back the phone to Kain and Kain had conveniently forgotten to ask for it back after Halloween.
One special app. caught his eye while he was taking a break at Pleasures. Sometimes he thought the feature where the app.s moved themselves around on the display when you weren’t looking was annoying but it did make you explore while searching for the one you really wanted. “As You Want It”, he read aloud. Hmm, he’d have to explore that one after work as break time was up and there were all those invoices of new products that had come in to go through. He pushed the curiosity from his mind for later and forgot about it until setting down the phone at bedtime.
Well bedtime got distracting. ‘Sands he loved his Kain’. Morning wasn’t too good either for remembering to check out the app.. Same reason. It was mid-morning when he finally remembered, while searching for the shopping list app. ‘As You Want It’ had moved itself to the front of the display. Cheeky little app, and Dick stopped right there. His “Kain!” was immediately answered with a magicking in of his mate.
“What does this app. ‘Do‘, my love?” was asked silkily. “Darn (there were little djinn in the house) the app was right here. Where’d it go?”
Kain’s brows wrinkled in confusion and then in a low innocent voice, “What app are you talking about?”
“Uh huh, like you don’t know. ‘As You Want It’ is an interesting name for an app don’t you think?” Dick then had to jerk the phone out of reach as Kain made to take it from him. “I don’t think so, lover mine.
Let’s see what it does.” Dick scrolled through the apps until finally he caught the app trying to change position.. again. “Nope, you aren’t getting away this time.” he said as he pressed the app firmly resulting in a small groan from the phone. A barely 20 if he was 18 aged djinn appeared in front of the couple.
After closing his mouth, Dick looked at his mate, “A little young for playing, don’t you think?”
“I was 18 when I went out into the world to my first employment”, Kain tried to state indignantly, after all he now had children of his own and that put a slightly different view on things. Mentally sighing, ‘things had changed so much since his coming out of the bottle and so had the kids‘.
“I brought them in in the packing materials through Pleasures. You intercepted a carton of them that time with the *coughs and glance at the young djinn* toys. They are just starting out and having them work the LL brand Smart Phone should , ” a speaking look at one of the newest apprentices, “should have been safe enough as they were just suppose to pass along the choices to the main office.”
“Obviously, they need better supervision then,” Dick looked at the evidence of wilting on the barely clothed apprentice. Directed at the younger djinn, “you are all legal, aren’t you?”
A gulp and frantic nodding of the head was his answer, followed by a too loud, “Yes, Sir!”
“Okay,” Dick gave a sigh of resignation. “You did good work on Halloween. Thank you.” A sunny smile was his result but dampened at Dick’s, “I want better clothing on all of you. Work attire. And I don’t want anyone becoming too enthusiastically involved.” He chose to overlook the smirk that ‘work attire’ had given rise to. ‘However did he become a house parent to all these not so little djinn. “Back to work and call your friends about the changes,” was his final word on it. Dick shut off the phone and set it discretely face down on a fabric covered table far from the bed.
Kain’s arms folded around him from behind and a kiss was pressed into the base of his shoulder. “Oh love, you continue to amaze me,” as he moved them both towards the bed.

Also it keeps playing in my mind, the loud battery sound as Dick was opening his er Zombie-Lover box. A special effect or the sound of lots of little Djinn using battery operated 'friends'?

On the other hand, I have long wanted to see a story in which an ace character genuinely enjoys bringing their non-ace partner to sexual completion (blow job, hand job, thrusting between thighs, whathaveyou) with both partners understanding and accepting that the ace partner a) likes knowing they can make their partner come undone and b) doesn't require/desire reciprocation. After all, being asexual doesn't mean you can't fall in love, nor does it mean you can't enjoy sexually stimulating your partner, you just don't need it yourself. :P

It's a less spoken of nature and I've not stumbled on any stories invovling one but after reading your comment I could now actually see a LL story that would work!
It's my ignorance that assumes an asexual person would be a loner. I'll have to wiki it before considering the plunny.

Or chuck questions at me if you'd like, and I'll do my best to answer them, I spent a lot of time on the AVEN forums a few years ago, very interesting conversations.
One of these days I'll write more stories about aces (I have one so far, my first ever multi-part story, which shows). There needs to be more ace stories on the 'net, it's just that the other stuff is generally easier without getting preachy. I mean, how do you show the difference between a romantic ace and a romantic non-ace in a romance story with no sexual content/focus?
If you do take up the challenge I wish you luck! :D

No more so than any other person. Some people are loners, some people are very gregarious and form close emotional bonds with one, a select few, or a great many people. It's the same for aces and non-aces alike, asexuality is simply the lack of sexual desire/attraction, that's all (or very low levels of sexual desire/attraction, so that people feel no need to act on it), everything else is the same. Some aces don't feel the need to find a romantic partner and others do. Romance and sex are two different things, likewise romantic attraction and sexual attraction are two different things. It's possible to be attracted to a person and fall in love with them without wanting sex. And if you take the view that every love is different, that everyone will love many different people in their life and love no two of them exactly the same way, because every person is unique from every other person, then the difference between asexual or not pretty well disappears. It's just that our society has a long-standing habit of associating love with sex, so that it becomes very easy for people to forget that they are in fact separate.
I could continue but I'm meant to be working, not sitting here giving an impromptu lecture in asexuality. :P

I may try a short LL fic but it would have to be of an individual rather than trying to accurately portray a social grouping. You'd be welcome to criticise! ;)

Oh certainly. The latter would be pretty much impossible anyway - you can't portray everyone accurately, they're all different! Doesn't matter what particular sub-set of society you were writing about.
And don't feel like you have to write one on my account, I really should do it myself instead of always going around being all 'oh, I wish someone would write this'. But if you do, I will read it with pleasure. :)

Date: 2010-11-11 03:43 pm (UTC)While if a fiction is m/m you can pigeonhole them as gay, Asexual seems more difficult to place. Saying doesn't like/want sex could be inaccurate. Doesn't need sex, also implies that they'd never consider it.
mmm My fic idea has stuck around so I'm going to write it. The usual fluff so no great philosphical debate LOL but (hope you don't mind) I'm messaging you my concept see what you think?
