I bought a kid's book at a public library resale thinking to make it into a library pass but when I opened the thing it was pristine on the story's pages. Another school in our district had withdrawn it for being damaged, think it was because it's dust jacket wasn't there any more and then they scrawled 'Withdrawn' in marker on the inside cover. The book was in better shape then most of our books that circulate a lot. Isn't white-out a wonderful product? Needless to say, since it was in the reading range of 2nd grade mid-year, it got entered into our own collection. Needed to put a price on it for the entry. Looked on Amazon. The hardcover book, which this was, is out of print. Author is Joanna Cole of Magic School Bus fame. Prices were interesting, $23 for a used HB book!!! (Am not saying anything about the $2500 price on used Library bound book that was listed)*shakes head* There was some whimpering done by me. I bought the thing for a donation of $1.

It turns out that I wasn't reading the correct part of the program. 14 day total of books that have circulated for us is actually 1792. We got a late start this year due to district circulation system changes. If we circ. 1000 books next week however, we will be all caught up. *grins* We can do it.. maybe. Makes note to pull October scary books to make tasteful exciting *grins* display. One of those will be the '"NEW" to us' book.

Score! (Good on you, too, for donating such things to your own school library. I love library sales too, but for me, LOL.)

Oooooh, book displays! Have fun arranging, and I hope the display stays nice after the kids get to it... :D

If I would just win the lottery, I predict that the Library would benefit even more. *grins* I have to physically restrain myself in some places.

Let's not discuss the time when I worked IN a bookstore.

I predict that the display will be a revolving collection of books of a certain haunting nature. It makes it easy to find and not have to re-shelve books that are of current interest.
Will need to put up, AHEAD of time this year,NANOWRIMO notice with display of pertinent books.

Changes in seasons seem to inspire tissue time. Maybe it's the stress of the change or that plants go, 'oooooh, time to pollinate.' Results are the same. Draining sinuses (if you're lucky, unlucky you have a sinus infection), weepy eyes, and feeling awful.

Fortunately, virtual hugs don't result in real disease transmission if that is what you have. Hope you feel better soon. *HUGS*

Next week will have another try at me.. next week. Survival is an on-going process.
