Familiar University Incident,
part 2

Title: Familiar University Incident, part 3- Pole Dance
Author: charisstoma
Word count: 967

After what he was mentally calling the curious incident of the dorm cats, Isaac thought he should seek out some of the student recreation areas. Surely the cats hadn’t spoken to him. It was probably some student prank, though how they’d known the cats would be having sexy times together in that dorm room he couldn’t postulate.

Following signs that directed the way to the workout room, he finally came to a big open and currently empty space in the basement. There were the expected treadmills, weight benches, ellipticals against a backdrop of an entire wall made up of mirrors. There was a ballet bar along that wall and some suspiciously placed hand smudges that made him wonder if the cats weren’t the only ones in the mating mood. Isaac shook his head at himself, this was a university of course, the sexual hormones were set on high. Which might explain the vertical poles off to the side of the room but still in full view of the mirrors. Why at least one of the poles seemed to be covered in what looked like low looped carpeting he wasn’t sure, though again his mind was drawn back to the cats. Pole cats, a smile spread across Isaac’s face, polecats not necessarily of the weasel family, even if the two he saw in the dorms were going at it like weasels.

Isaac walked over to one of the carpeted poles reaching up to grasp it and swung himself up looping a leg around it to rut against the roughness, pressing himself against it. Ooooh yes, this he could see the appeal in.

“Want help with that?” a voice asked.

Isaac practically fell from his position on the pole, thankfully landing gracefully on his feet in spite of the firm disability in his pants.

“Um. Was trying to understand why some of the poles were carpeted.” He laughed, “guess I might have figured that out.” Isaac met the gaze of the man in the mirrored wall’s reflection wondering how he’d not noticed anyone entering, he was usually good at being aware of his environment.

“You’re not the first to try out one of our poles like that, some have some help from behind, if you know what I mean.” The man’s grin was infectious. “I wouldn’t mind helping you if you were in need of help. What year are you in?”

Still not turning around, because in embarrassing situations talking to someone’s image in a mirror was easier than turning around and facing them, “I might… sometime, if I knew the person and well .., knew them. I’m a 3rd year but not enrolled here. Got special permission to tour the school for an article I’m writing.” Isaac finally turned, comfortable enough to face his companion, and found no one there.

“Good a view from the back as the front,” had Isaac spinning to look at the mirror where the man’s image stood grin firmly in place.

“How?” he began then grasp the pole for support. “Cats talk and now a man talking to me through a mirror. I’m going crazy.”

“No, sweetness and light, you’re just not used to the students who study at this school. I’m Cornelius, by the way. Was told to keep an eye on you. Think I might keep you, just between you and me. Your juvenile suppression spell is starting to break down, shouldn’t be long now. Then we’ll see what you’re made of but I’m thinking familiar wizard combination with maybe a touch of something more.”

“Familiar? The cats I saw in the dorm room were familiars? They exist? Really exist?”

“Yep,” was grinned. “The fucking familiars are real. There’s a lot of them on campus in our student body.”

“I’m not a cat. How could I be a familiar and not know it?”

“Not all familiars are of the feline nature. But you are, I think. There’s a strong feeling about you, and,” was stressed, “you’re doing that thing that felines do, snooping around in possible new territory. What’s your major at this non-magical university that isn’t here?”

“Journalism with a minor in general science.”

“Definitely feline, snoopy and graceful without trying furry four paws.”

“Journalists aren’t necessarily intrusively snoopy.”

“Try telling that to the cats you interrupted and they’ll laugh you out of the room. If not snoopy, how would you term yourself?”

Isaac hesitated, “Curious?” and frowned at the laughter that elicited before sheepishly smiling. “Shut up.”

“This room is going to fill up soon and I’m loath to share you while you rid yourself of the spell. Come closer to the mirror.”

Isaac moved towards the mirror, drawn to it. What would his imaginary watcher do? He was inside the mirror and Isaac was in this room. Cautiously he reached out his hand to touch the smooth surface wondering about where the other man was.

“Not bad for a first time mirror travel. Now think about how you did it, so you’ll remember for next time.”

“How did…?”

“You did it all on your own too, which is amazing considering.”

“I was thinking about you and wondering where you were,” Isaac tried to describe.

“That does it. No matter what you are, you’re mine. Even you think you’re mine or you couldn’t have done that so easily.”

Almost plaintively, Isaac murmured, “I don’t know what’s happening.”

Arms wrapped around him, “You’re waking up, sweetness. You’re waking up to who you are. Sleep for a while. I’ll stay with you and be here when you wake. I’m not losing you now.”

Isaac still didn’t know what was happening but the sheet were smooth against his bare skin and a warm body was pressed against him from behind, their soft warm sleeping breath caressing over his ear. It felt right.

I guess we get at least one more part. Demons take a bit more advantage then I'm comfortable with, but Isaac seems happy.

I guessed demon, first because of his name and second because of his attitude. Familiars for the most part are willing to hunt/stalk their "prey". They don't have to be wanted back at the same degree right this minute. Wizards are matter a fact about it, but can be shy and bashful. Whereas demons drag their prey in too deep to get away, then the prey gives in to the inevitable, like drowning but with pleasure added.
