I use clear glass jars to capture spiders. That way you can see that the spider is inside and not crawling up your pant leg or dress. These are important things.
The jars also have metal lids and there's a thin yet sturdy piece of paper to slip between wall/floor/whatever so that the jar can be turned upright, the captive knocked to the jar bottom and the lid affixed to the jar.
We have multiple sizes of jars because some spiders are bigger than others.
