“Alright, it’s time to spray for insects again. So be warned.” Andy looked at Simon as if accusing him of not doing his job.

“I eat rodents,” Simon defended himself. “Remember that cute ‘ittle-bitty dormouse you wouldn’t let me eat.”

Sighing, “Well this bug looks like it’s straight out of that Star Trek movie, the one where they put mind controlling insects in people’s ears. I want it and all its relatives gone.”

Trying hard not to snicker Simon said, “So we’ve got earworms?”

“An earworm … is a song that repeats itself in your brain!” Andy reached for the broom.

Earworm per the internet can be an insect that infests ears of corn. Or it can be that song that just will not go away. It also is where my mind went when I thought of earwig.

In this case some earwigs were hurt due to intervention by Andy. They were swept up and thrown outside the backdoor. Which is a better chance than if they find their way back inside once the poison is sprayed on the entries.

I always think of wood-lice as being Earwigs - it's what I grew up thinking they were. They creep me out, something about the way they look. No don't post pics or interesting facts *toothy smile*

songs *sigh* they can bring the urge to scream! hols next week a whole a week free of 'your gorgeous' 'ganghan style' 'some stupid song that 'when this song is over we all go home' - played halfway through the shift so no we bloody don't!'

Woodlice remind me of trilobites, which makes them cute and interesting. We also call them pillbugs. They look like small adorable marbles curled up tight.

I'm sure there were out out darn earwigs.
They don't need to be in the house.

The shelter at my first grade school was colonized by earwigs. Some where huge. (Or I might have just been small)
